As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced director of people strategy to join our executive team and drive our HR strategy, focusing on enhancing our organizational culture, managing employee benefits and fostering strong relationship management through emotional intelligence.
Position Overview:
The director of people strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the company's human resources strategy, with a strong emphasis on promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), and social impact. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive change, promote a positive workplace culture and ensure our employees thrive both personally and professionally. This role is a direct report to the president of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that align with the company's mission, vision and social impact goals.
Oversee the design and administer employee benefits programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our diverse workforce.
Cultivate a positive and inclusive company culture that promotes employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.
Lead initiatives to enhance emotional intelligence and relationship management skills across the organization.
Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring effective implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Manage talent acquisition, development and retention strategies to build a high-performing and diverse workforce.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives and social impact goals.
Drive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) efforts across the organization.
Monitor and analyze HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
Interview and onboard prospective employees.
Administer employee disciplinary processes including warnings, write ups and terminations in compliance with State and Federal guidelines and company policies.
Manage employee annual review process.
Track and report employee data.
Administer open enrollment and benefit programs.
Update company handbook and policies as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies in a commercial construction or similar industry.
Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and regulatory requirements.
Excellent emotional intelligence and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Experience in talent management, organizational development, and change management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with employees at all levels.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience
100% employer-paid benefits: health, dental, vision, $10,000 life insurance, EAP [out-of-pocket expenses and co-pays remain employee's responsibility]
