Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to create a department that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.
Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), in conjunction with the Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR), is currently seeking a leader in the field of Pediatric Radiology to serve as the Director & Section Chief of Pediatric Imaging, joining our existing group of 4 Pediatric Radiologists, all of whom have either attained their Certificates of Additional Qualification from the American Board of Radiology or are eligible to do so.
This full-time pediatric radiology position will provide specialized diagnostic radiology - pediatric imaging interpretation, including CT, MRI, US, fluoroscopy, and radiographs excluding interventional radiology and nuclear medicine, with the use of state-of-the-art equipment. They will also train residents within the large, highly productive academic radiology department.

Required Qualifications:
ABR certification or documentation of passing core component of the ABR examination
Fellowship trained in Pediatric Radiology
Experience as a pediatric radiologist in a high-volume Radiology department
Candidates must have leadership ability and dedication to our tripartite mission of patient-centered care, education, and research. In addition, candidates will demonstrate and unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation, and education
Candidates must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure
Candidates must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned or eligible to earn Certificate of Additional Qualifications from the American Board of Radiology.
Special interest or skills in acute care imaging and oncology, a plus but not required.
