What You Will Do

As a Director of Pediatric Critical Care with Seton Family of Hospitals-TX, you will have the opportunity to direct services, workflow and resources for assigned nursing area. In this role, you will have oversight for the following areas: PICU, CCU, Level IV NICU, and the Neonatal transport team. This is an opportunity to be a part of a hospital within a successful system with much capital and resources poured into Dell Children's Medical Center. We are in growth mode and looking for a strong leader that will take the reins and continue in that direction. We are looking for someone who has a professional presence, articulate and decisive. A leader who is a good team member; has a vision and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. Our next Director will run with an idea and be solution minded and someone who anticipates well. Responsibilities:

  • Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.

  • Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.

  • Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.

  • Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education:

  • Diploma

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

  • 5 years nursing leadership experience, preferably in a pediatric setting.

  • Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center.

  • Experience working in an academic setting with Magnet designation preferred

  • National certification in leadership desired or obtained within 2 years.
