Established in 1994, Sonora Behavioral Health is a 140-bed acute inpatient psychiatric hospital that caters to individuals who are working towards recovering from behavioral health conditions and chemical dependency issues. With services available for children, adolescents, and adults, Sonora has expanded its size and the scope of programs available to meet the needs of those in Pima County and Southern Arizona.

Director of Outpatient Services

As the Director of Outpatient Services, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing the seamless operation and strategic direction of clinical support activities at our facility. With a primary focus on maintaining high standards of care, your responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive management of program goals, staff, resources, and equipment. Leveraging your substantial background in behavioral health, alongside at least two years in a managerial capacity, you will implement program objectives and timelines, oversee the budget, and enforce policies that enhance participant involvement and program efficacy. Additionally, your leadership will ensure compliance with critical standards and laws set by JCAHO, Medicare, and other regulatory bodies. This role requires a proactive, empathetic leader committed to nurturing a positive environment and driving continuous improvement in both patient care and staff performance. We are currently offering a $10,000 Sign on Bonus for this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and implement program goals, objectives, personnel, resources and equipment.

• Implement the approved program plan objectives, timetables, expected outcome and measures for assigned areas of responsibility.

• Oversee the program's budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits. Work may involve directing counselors, clinical staff or other facility / clinic staff involved in the delivery of services through the program. Provides management and oversight for the facility outpatient program.

• Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.

• Develop and assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the hospital, to ensure efficient operation of the program.

• Ensure that the unit maintains compliance with standards, laws and certification standards, including those established by JCAHO, Medicare and other regulatory agencies.

• Supervise the maintenance of patient records to ensure required quality documentation and compliance with policies and procedures.

• Make recommendations for, develop, and carry out improvements to the program to meet changing mission parameters and requirements.

• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's Degree in a behavioral health field required.

• Four or more years' experience working in behavioral health.

• Two or more years' management experience required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Active LCSW license required

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
