We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Behavioral Health Operations to join our team. As the Director, you will act as the operational leader under the direction of the Vice President of Behavioral Health, to develop and implement both short and long-term strategies and tactics to promote excellence in program operations and outcomes. This is a leadership role that requires strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The Director of Behavioral Health Operations is responsible for the operations of the UMass Memorial Health-Harrington's Behavioral Health continuum of services. These services range from two inpatient psychiatric units to various adult and pediatric outpatient clinics, dual-diagnosis clinics, partial hospital programs, psychiatric emergency services, an opioid treatment program and addiction urgent care, and interventional psychiatry. The Operations Director will work closely with Clinical Leaders to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the outpatient and inpatient programs, as well as oversee the Operational Manager who supervises administrative support staff, central intake, prior authorizations and denials, and facilities.
Work with leaders of the behavioral health programs to create dashboards to track key metrics of success including staff productivity, quality, volume, recruitment, and retention.
Create quality plan and tracking for department, coordinate preparation for The Joint Commission accreditation, and work with program leaders on licensing
Monitors budget to support operational goals, growth, and flexible staffing model.
Work with leadership on new program development and enhancement with an understanding of return on investment
Works with leaders to ensure optimal productivity, revenue capture and a process to review on an ongoing basis.
Oversee facility needs and planning
Coordination with IT, electronic health record (Epic), and Workday staff to address departmental issues, modifications, and improvements
Coordinates the departmental compliance/utilization review process.
Creates operational efficiencies by integrating behavioral health services and processes within broader behavioral health continuum and throughout the organization, when applicable
Works with the program leaders to ensure policies and procedures to meet all regulatory requirements.
Works closely with Revenue Integrity and Billing teams to ensure programs are billed optimally and are contractually compliant.

1.Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred:
1.Master's or Doctoral degree in human services discipline.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1.Five years in a healthcare setting.
2.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
3.Ability to collaborate with other disciplines.
4.Strong independence in work ethic, critical thinking, and organization.
Preferred:
1.Prior supervisory experience.
