This role is responsible for driving the promotion of our franchise (OPDIVO+/-YERVOY & OPDIVO+CABOMETYX) in Genitourinary including RCC & Bladder tumors to healthcare practitioners. Leading the GU marketing team and partnering with a broad matrix to coordinate tumor strategy across indications. This role is a key leader in the Oncology marketing team responsible for both growth of our core in-line business and the commercialization of our expanding indications in GU.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Build BMS Oncology Leadership through the development of a, differentiated communication platform which clearly & succinctly conveys our brands value.

  • Build on the recent success of our Adjuvant UC (CM-274) launch and expand our bladder business into new indications and combinations therapies.

  • Prepare for release of data sets and potential launches in Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) to deliver results in line with product/business plan and company goals.

  • Lead a team of direct reports as well as the cross-functional matrix team to identify business opportunities or issues to inform a clear path to drive growth.

  • Effectively analyze customer insights, brand performance, market trends & competitive response to inform strategic plan which addresses key challenges and capitalizes on opportunities.

  • Driving preparation for key senior management reviews and presentations.

  • Foster a culture of inclusion and teamwork across the BMS stakeholder groups


  • Prior people leadership and launch experience valued highly with a minimum of 4 years of marketing

  • Prior experience in Oncology required or understanding of the oncology marketplace is recommended.

  • MBA or other Advanced Degree Preferred.

  • Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and executive collaboration required.

  • Position requires very strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to develop and manage strong customer relationships

The East Regional Oncology MSL Director, GI GU is responsible for the execution of Medical Affairs strategy in support of the organization's business strategy and objectives. You are also accountable for leading and managing Field Medical Affairs resources in collaboration with Medical Affairs Leadership. Reporting to the Franchise Head, you will serve as a core member of the Franchise Leadership Team. The geographic responsibility for this role is the Eastern half of contiguous North America. Preferred major cities where the ideal candidate can reside are (Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., Charlotte, New Jersey as examples). Will work remotely. The East Regional Oncology MSL Director, GI GU will develop and lead a team of field-based Oncology Medical Science Liaisons (MSL's) in support of therapeutic area and brand medical plans. You will ensure MSL teams deliver customer outcomes through execution of Medical Affairs deliverables for assigned brands(s) and contribute as a member of Medical Affairs workstream(s) representing field and customer perspective. Additional Accountabilities will include providing guidance on collection of medical insight and communicate actionable items to internal stakeholders as appropriate; lead and manage change initiatives as needed in the field to enable positive business outcomes; serve as a role model fostering personal accountability and ownership of individual and team success; manage performance of direct reports - including recruiting, hiring and retention. You will also facilitate scientific and skill training as well as professional development for direct reports while also providing timely feedback and coaching to MSLs to improve performance and business impact.
