Float Pool Director of Nursing (DON) Job Overview
The Float Pool Director of Nursing is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing's (DON) leadership/management team and is responsible for over 110 staff to include Float Pool Nurses, Float Pool CNAs, Unit Secretaries, Clinical Coordinators, Sitters and Nursing Clinical Supervisors at newly magnet certified MedStar Harbor Hospital. The Float DON will also function as a Clinical Administrator as needed.

About MedStar Harbor Hospital
MedStar Harbor Hospital is a private nonprofit, 130+ bed, acute care teaching hospital. Its areas of specialty include general surgery, orthopaedics, oncology, women and infants' services, emergency medicine, internal medicine, behavioral health. Harbor Hospital also offers a medical residency program in internal medicine and a transitional program that prepares residents to specialize in other areas. Directs and coordinates the activities of professional and support personnel within the assigned areas Assumes 24-hour administrative and leadership authority and responsibility for the management and direction of the operational, personnel and financial activities of the specified units/departmentsCoordinates these functions in partnership with the nursing leadership team, Medical Staff and leaders of other departments/disciplines and ensures they are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Health and entity's mission, vision, and values
