    Summary:
    The Director of Nursing
  • Orthopedics is responsible for the administration, planning, organizing, control and overall general management of all hospital based orthopedic services.
    Accountable for the overall administration and coordination of the Orthopedic Service Line.
    Coordination involves planning and directing functions associated with the business, financial, and clinical activities including but not limited to: volume growth drivers, regulatory compliance, purchasing and inventory, marketing, operational/quality performance and monitoring, physician and hospital team member education, potential new program development opportunities, certification as indicated.
    Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, and operational functions.
    Develops and implements an operational and capital budget from departments under his/her direction, working within established budgetary guidelines.
    Provides leadership in the clinical advancements of the department and oversees the educational opportunities offered within the department insuring continuous professional growth in self and subordinates.
    Must be able to work under deadlines and utilize independent decision making skills in a wide variety of situations.
    Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
    Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
    Experience: 3-5 years progressively responsible management experience.
    5 years experience in discipline or specialty.
    5-7 years of acute care nursing experience.
    Specialty or Administration certification desired.
    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
    Master's Degree in Nursing or other related healthcare preferred.
    Certifications / Licensure: Current State Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Special

    Skills:
    Proven relationship builder with unsurpassed interpersonal skills.
    Experience and knowledge of management theory/styles of health care services Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated ability to design, plan, organize, and implement projects and tasks Computer skills Great opportunity for a Manager or smaller Hospital Director!

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2018 6:42:42 PM 2019-01-30T18:42 <p>Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the facility’s nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, supervision, and evaluation of all the nursing services provided in the facility</li> <li>Ensures nursing department compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and implementation of nursing programs</li> <li>Ensures maintenance of records and reports concerning resident care</li> <li>Ensures the orientation and training of nursing services personnel</li> <li>Manages the Nursing Services department within the budget</li> <li>Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department</li> <li>Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as required concerning the operation of the nursing department</li> <li>Provide the Administrator with information relative to the nursing needs of the resident and the nursing service department’s ability to meet those needs</li> <li>Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care</li> <li>Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary</li> <li>Monitor the facility’s survey reports and assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas</li> <li>Serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility as appointed by the Administrator</li> <li>Determine the staffing needs of the nursing department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents</li> <li>Responsible for, in conjunction with Human Resources, the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel</li> <li>Ensure development of work assignments and schedule duty hours of nursing service personnel</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Registered Nurse License required with a minimum of 2 years related experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
