Looking for a great opportunity? We seek candidates with three (3) or more years ofclinical experience asa Director of Nursing in a CCRC, nursing home, hospital or like facilityfor the role ofDirector of Nursing. In this role you will supervise and support nursing team members and administer care services to Assisted Living residents. In this role you willplanand coordinatenursing services of the CCRC. You will be responsible for overseeing all nursing personnel, patient care, and assessment. You will participateas a member of the facility's management team in planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions, and operations of the facility's nursing services.
Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and hold current New Jersey licensureas a registered nurse. Must have three (3) or more years ofexperience as a Director of Nursing in a CCRC, nursing home, hospital or like facility. Must be able todeal professionally with local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and cooperate with and respond effectively to the instructions and requests from a diverse group of residents, visitors, and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English in person and over the telephone.

Responsible for overseeing all nursing personnel, patient care and assessment. Participates as a member of the facility's management team in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions and operations of the facility's nursing services.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manages, directs and supervises all nursing personnel in the completion of their responsibilities.</li> <li>Develops a schedule to ensure that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.</li> <li>Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice at the facility under the direction of the Director of Health Services.</li> <li>Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services and staff.</li> <li>Responsible for staff performance and staff development. Assists with planning, conducting and scheduling of in-service training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs to ensure quality, effective care.</li> <li>In collaboration with the Director of Health Services, shall plan, develop and implement a budget for staffing and services.</li> <li>Monitors the overall care of residents and provides on-going assessments of residents' needs.</li> <li>Continually assesses the quality of care rendered to residents and evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the guidelines of the facility. Provides written weekly reports or as requested.</li> <li>Meets with new admissions and conducts initial needs assessment.</li> <li>Routinely reviews resident charts following medically appropriate guidelines.</li> <li>Responds to resident needs and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.</li> <li>Maintains an adequate level of supplies and equipment to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the facility and residents.</li> </ul> <p><br />  </p> <ul> <li>Responds to resident needs and concerns in a timely and courteous manner. Ensures that the residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well-established, maintained and communicated to the nursing staff, etc. at all times.</li> <li>Ensures that all nursing personnel, residents, visitors, etc. follow governmental and facility-established safety regulations to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.</li> <li>Ensures that nursing staff follow policies implemented for waste disposal, storage and dispensing of drugs and controlled substances, health, cleanliness, etc.</li> <li>Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.</li> <li>Maintains confidentiality of all resident information and periodically re-enforces the policy with the nursing staff.</li> <li>Serves on various committees of the facility (i.e. Infection Control, Utilization Review, Quality Assurance and Assessment, etc.)</li> <li>Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required or as may be assigned.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with other departments, CCRCs, nursing facilities, etc. regarding resources and services to improve resident care and nursing staff development.</li> </ul> <p>    Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.</p> <ul> <li>Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.</li> <li>Encourages and supports research and improvement studies that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of nursing services.</li> <li>Complies with periodic physical examinations as may be required or requested.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in Nursing and current New Jersey license as a registered nurse.</li> <li>A minimum of 3 years experience as a Director of Nursing in a CCRC, nursing home, hospital or like facility.</li> <li>Ability to deal professionally with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and cooperate with and respond effectively to the instructions and requests from a diverse group of residents, visitors and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills in English in person and over the telephone.</li> <li>Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance, stand for long periods of time, bend, reach and perform other such functions as usually performed by a registered nurse.</li> <li>Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them.</li> <li>Proficiency with use of computers and application software.</li> <li>Work frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
