Director of Nursing

DON - Must be a Registered Nurse ( RN )

Location - State of Texas

Results Statement:

To create a premier health care community by directing, overseeing and evaluating all clinical personnel in delivering resident centered quality care according to state/federal regulations and set forth policy & procedures while balancing cost vs care to meet the goals of Touchstone Communities through optimizing systems and effectively managing a stable clinical team with the appropriate skill sets.

Work Listing:

  • Assume responsibility for the development of nursing service objectives and performance standards of nursing practice for each category of nursing personnel.

  • Direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.

  • Assess resident care needs and assist in the development of individualized plans of resident care.

  • Assess resident pre-admission and/or admission information and determine appropriate level of care.

  • Assume responsibility for development and implementation of nursing rehabilitation and restorative programs.

  • Assume responsibility for analysis of incident and accident investigation reports to determine cause(s) and implement corrective action(s), when appropriate.

  • Assume responsibility for directing and implementing the Fall Prevention & Management Program and other Touchstone programs.

  • Consistently operate nursing service department within the established budget guidelines.

  • Direct and supervise scheduling of Team Members within established guidelines for allocation of nursing service personnel on duty.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A current and valid Texas RN nursing license or a current and valid RN license from a Compact State is required. The RN may continue to practice under the former home state license and multistate licensure privilege during the processing of the nurse's licensure application in the new home state for a period not to exceed thirty days.

  • DON / Prior leadership and supervisory experience required up to 3 to 5 years

  • Management of SNF or LTAC up to 3 years

  • Examples and proof of survey history and outcomes along with POCs

  • Polished and professional along with amazing customer services and leadership skills

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2018 6:42:42 PM 2019-01-30T18:42 <p>Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the facility’s nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, supervision, and evaluation of all the nursing services provided in the facility</li> <li>Ensures nursing department compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and implementation of nursing programs</li> <li>Ensures maintenance of records and reports concerning resident care</li> <li>Ensures the orientation and training of nursing services personnel</li> <li>Manages the Nursing Services department within the budget</li> <li>Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department</li> <li>Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as required concerning the operation of the nursing department</li> <li>Provide the Administrator with information relative to the nursing needs of the resident and the nursing service department’s ability to meet those needs</li> <li>Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care</li> <li>Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary</li> <li>Monitor the facility’s survey reports and assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas</li> <li>Serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility as appointed by the Administrator</li> <li>Determine the staffing needs of the nursing department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents</li> <li>Responsible for, in conjunction with Human Resources, the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel</li> <li>Ensure development of work assignments and schedule duty hours of nursing service personnel</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Registered Nurse License required with a minimum of 2 years related experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
