Director of Nursing Services -DON / DNS

Martine Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is actively seeking an experienced DON / DNS for our Skilled Nursing Facility in White Plains, New York.

DUTIES:

  • Supervises all nursing staff in the facility

  • Development and implementation of nursing policy and procedure

  • Overseeing the hiring and continued employment of nursing staff

  • Ensuring there is adequate nursing staff, and that the staff's skills remain current

  • Overseeing nursing employee conduct

  • Being knowledgeable of incidents at the facility

  • Assessing the health needs of each resident

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current New York RN license required

  • Minimum 5 years experience long-term care

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

  • Evidence of strong supervision & leadership skills

Duties include but are not limited to: ADL#s, vital signs, I#O, performing EKGs, documentation of vital signs and I # O, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients, medications or specimens, ambulating of patients, urinary drainage care (indwelling, external and suprapubic), assists with colostomy care, applies binders, weighs patients, assists health care providers with procedures and physical exams, and other duties as assigned. Nursing Technicians hired before 4/1/17 must receive the BLS certification by 4/30/18. Nursing Technicians hired on or after 4/1/17, must have their BLS upon hire or obtain the certification during the Nursing Technician Orientation.
