Director of Music Ministries

The First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, TN is recruiting a full-time Minister of Music to lead our church's music program, engaging all ages in a variety of music experiences and worship opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, coordinating, and evaluating the music programming for all ages throughout the church.

• Recruiting new members to join the choir and offering them spiritual and social support.

• Recruiting, training, coordinating, and supervising volunteers to lead, assist, or provide instrumental accompaniment for children and youth music programs.

• Working with the Senior Pastor to plan Sunday worship and special services.

• Working with the Senior Pastor and Minister of Campus and Community Engagement for contemporary worship service once a month.

• Selecting and leading congregational music at regular and special services - including seasonal performances.

• Planning, coordinating, and directing children, adult, and handbell choir and praise band rehearsals and performances - including rehearsals and performances for seasonal performances.

• Serve as a resource for church members on music for weddings, funerals, memorial services and special recognitions.

• Participate in local outreach through planning, coordinating, and leading worship experiences at local nursing homes once per month.

• Select and purchase all needed music, equipment and supplies according to the music budget and relevant church policies.

• Supervise the use and maintenance of the music, equipment and supplies, such as the music library, musical instruments, choir robes, and hymnals.

• Serve as a member of the Church Council to report on the ongoing work and needs of the music ministry within the church and coordinate music activities, projects, and programs with other church ministries.

• Attend staff meetings to report on the ongoing work and needs of the music ministry within the church and coordinate music activities, projects, and programs with other church staff.

Salary will be determined by education and experience. Salary begins at $40,000

2 weeks paid vacation.
