Director of Medical Transport Business Development

What you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of long and short term strategic and business initiatives aimed at growing the program, as well as serving the needs of the HCA Houston Healthcare hospitals and the community.

  • Oversees all HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife strategic initiatives activities to include meetings with key HCA Houston Healthcare constituents and key HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife customers

  • Monitors and understands volume trends and plan strategic initiatives to grow HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife volume and enhance customer service.

  • Develops weekly schedule that demonstrates contacts and intended results.

  • Responsible for detailed knowledge of market dynamics, such as competitor activity, hospital service line changes, competitor marketing strategies.

  • Primary contact for customer service recovery.

  • Communicates any issues needed follow up to appropriate people and ensures the customer needs were met.

  • Provide routine updates and reports to HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife

  • Develops and participates in budgetary process and planning for all business development activities.

  • Trends and tracks activities

  • Works closely with HCA Houston Healthcare division PR for any media events or promotion.

  • Proactively visits key referring and receiving agencies and facilities to understand needs

  • Promotes HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife's culture of excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of patient/customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business or health related field or commensurate experience in air medical operations required

  • Masters degree in business development field preferred

  • Certified Medical Transport Executive preferred (must be obtained within 3 yrs of hire)

  • Marketing skills

  • Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of transport medicine, aviation and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrates an ability to work with a wide array of partners and constituents.

  • Communicates clearly and concisely. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and exceed the right customers consistently.

  • Consistently provides follow up and follows through on all commitments

  • Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with vendors and customers, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.

  • Uses effective approaches for problem solving and takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences. Able to prioritize effectively.

  • Demonstrates ability to develop authentic relationships with customers and colleagues.
