We are hiring for a Director of Marketing for The Wall. This leader will play a vital role in the strategy development and execution of the LA Clippers marketing efforts for fan activation. In this role you will be responsible for the long-term strategy, creative vision, program development, communication, ideation and execution of the LA Clippers fan communities. You will also be responsible for game day staffing plans related to The Wall, including part-time game night staff. Partnering closely with the Game Presentation team, working hand in hand with the Director of Game Presentation and Executive Producers, you will be the marketing and creative consultant to ensure that our Fan Community is an integral part of our show production value. This section is the 6th man on the floor, and we want to show the competition how powerful our Fan Community and The Wall can be!

About the Wall: Our Home Court Advantage

We are reimaging the Clipper Nation Experience & taking the 51 uninterrupted rows of Clippers Super Fans to create the NBAs best home court advantage. The Wall includes our standing room only section, built to house 300 of our most energetic fans who will help us deliver an unbelievable in-game experience. This is unlike anything else in the NBA!

This is a full-time role based in Inglewood, CA and is eligible for our competitive benefit offering including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Well-Being Allowance, and more. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover NBA games.

What You Will Do

  • Lead development of our long-term marketing vision and strategy for The Wall.

  • Partner with our Game Presentation team to integrate The Wall fan section into the game.

  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Community Relations, Game Presentation and Ticket Sales & Service teams to construct an overall vision for The Wall community.

  • Develop new strategies for in-game activations that are consistent with our brand identity including merchandise and technology integrations utilizing our Intuit Dome App.

  • Support Ticket Sales & Service team with the development & marketing of our ticket/membership sales strategy around The Wall.

  • Develop in season and yearlong programming consistent with our brand identity and long-term goals in mind.

  • Take a leadership role in building and managing relationships with The Wall and fan community.

  • Develop and schedule engaging events that increase fandom, group presence, and community involvement.

  • Design efficient and engaging game day cadence and event show content, working with Director of Game Presentation for game day integration.

  • Communicate and assist fans with game day related needs working with arena operations, game presentation, and ticketing.

  • Create incentives for the fan community that keep the group engaged, motivated, and striving to continuously excel.

  • Manage any requested video shoots or internal and external appearance requests.

  • Manage staff related to The Wall, including one direct report (Marketing Manager), and creating staffing plans for game day part time sales staff and game night staff.

  • Assist the marketing team with grassroots marketing programs and efforts.

Your Background, Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Marketing (experiential and live fan engagement connected to event presentation a strong asset)

  • 2+ years of demonstrated people leadership with a proven track record of coaching & developing talent

  • Passionate about storytelling through engaging visuals

  • Incredible at networking and growing a roster of strong relationships /contacts across the industry & community

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently - high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Passion for fandom and a desire to service fans and supporters with a "make it happen" attitude.

  • Strong understanding of NBA basketball preferred and the importance of delivering Home Court Advantage

  • Sees a fast-paced environment as an opportunity to bring new ideas to the table quickly and to make things unexpected and exciting

  • Strong strategic thinker with a track record of delivering results

  • Exceptional execution & communication skills, business savvy and an opportunity seeker

  • Strong project management, prioritization skills & ability to manage multiple projects at different stages

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire a large group of individuals.

  • Ability to anticipate issues and resolve them based on sound business judgement

  • Undergraduate/graduate degree

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset

Compensation

  • The range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

About Intuit Dome

Opening in August 2024, Intuit Dome is the new home of the LA Clippers and will host hundreds of sporting events and concerts each year. Located in Inglewood, Calif., Intuit Dome is built different -- it will redefine fans' expectations for live experiences and change the music landscape in Los Angeles.

Set to host the 2026 NBA All-Star game, Intuit Dome is over 1 million square feet and features our team training center, business operations offices, five full-sized basketball courts, an 80,000 square foot outdoor plaza and a double-sided Halo Board composed of more than an acre of LED.
