POSITION SUMMARY:

Demonstrate support towards meeting and exceeding enrollment goals, including using keys of prospect management principles and the pillars of the EM strategic plan, through marketing and communications efforts.

Develops and modifies messaging and messaging templates according to the target audience, communication goals and communication channels employed. Manages and/or supports several aspects of comprehensive recruitment marketing and communication efforts, including event-related content, creating, reviewing and/or adapting messaging for 10 + internal and external communication channels, for deployment/posting:

  • All EMG unit websites and pages

  • Technolutions Slate Deliver CRM (email, text, robo call)

  • Parent & Families Portal

  • Presentations and other event assets

  • Social media (e.g., Admissions and Financial Aid Facebook page, Instagram, ZeeMee)

  • Virtual campus tour

  • Along with managing content in external partner content sites and portals.

The director will serve as primary liaison to marcom project manager, providing content, oversight and guidance.

Attends EMG and University meetings, as well as external meetings with vendors and other partners, to represent EMG and/or EMG marcom, work on strategic efforts and report on EMG marcom.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the AVP-MC in EMG marketing and communication activities including comprehensive undergraduate and graduate admissions marketing and communication, content planning and marcom reports, presentations, school recruitment plans and other documents.

Primary writer for recruitment communications for all audiences - prospective through committed first-year, transfer and graduate students. Ongoing projects include content planning, writing/development, template creation for scalability, maintenance and vendor marcom liaison for: virtual tour; DU parent and families enrollment portal, EMG vendor partners; creating and updating marcom materials; oversees reporting and content placement by marcom project manager, etc.

Maintains working knowledge of University brand guidelines and messaging as well as admission-specific key messages; incorporates storytelling and inclusivity.

Proofread print, email, web, presentations, scripts and other written documents; provide content development as needed.

Supports events through development of integrated campaigns for web, email, social, parent portal, print communications as well as day of event assets.

Establishes, monitors and analyzes key metrics and support in assessing ROI; leverages analytics to make data-driven recommendations and decisions about content, platform, segments and cadence.

Serves as subject matter expert and consultant for EMG colleagues related to student journey communications, technical/instructional writing and other prospect management communication.

Represents AVP marcom at select meetings and/or with select departments. Provides back-up support and direction if AVP marcom unavailable.

Attends internal meetings (e.g., EMG Enrollment Leadership Team, Comm Tech-Marcom, Campus Visits/Events and University meetings), as well as external meetings with vendors and other partners, to represent EMG and/or EMG marcom, work on strategic efforts and report on EMG marcom.

Multi-channel and multi-year content development to support student and family experience during college search and application process. Develops and maintains multi-channel content calendar. Develops overall plan/goals/voice and messaging tone/content so that project manager can deploy content calendar.

Manages social media efforts and serves as internal social media expert, for EMG units. This includes the undergraduate admissions and financial aid Facebook page, guiding student ambassadors for UG admissions Instagram page. Coordinates with DMC University social media.

Primary or key liaison to several vendor partners, including those with content channels.

Serves as a primary web lead/publisher/content manager for all EMG web pages, including undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, summer session, Office of Military and Veteran Services (OMVS), and the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships; maintains and expands knowledge of Google Analytics for translation of analytics to web content and messaging refinement, website revisions, etc. Writes and maintains web content that is both ADA-compliant and search engine optimized. Serves as liaison to DMC web team.

Serves as part of the EMG marcom team supporting various and new initiatives including ad hoc campaigns, special requests and new messaging.

Works to coordinate efforts to support integrated marketing communications.

Participates in professional development and performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Participates in large admissions recruitment events - mandatory (i.e., DUQ Days, etc.).

Allocates expenses in Chrome River for University procurement card.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.

Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree Communication, Writing, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, English or related field from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience.

Experience in developing communication plans, including drafting messaging and proofreading, email marketing, website content management.

Note: Prior experience in marketing and communications within higher education may substitute for some of the above education.

Preferred qualifications:

Higher education experience preferred but not required.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise and engaging content for various digital platforms including email, web, social media as well as print collateral, presentations, reports and other materials.

Experience working with brand guidelines, storytelling and inclusivity.

Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

An impeccable eye for detail and accuracy; strong proofreading and editing skills.

Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to accommodate multiple priorities; ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, conduct multiple tasks.

Experience overseeing the work of staff (e.g., marcom project manager, graduate assistant, student ambassadors for social media efforts).

Digital marketing experience required, including the use of web content management systems, website analytics (GA4), project management tools (Teams, Planner).

Experience with vendor collaboration and management.
