About the team

The Market Development Team

Following recent global alignment, this team has been created to provide market and proposition insight to GBG Americas’ sales teams – enabling them to sell better and faster. Sitting between the product and sales teams, we want to turbo-boost our GTM approach by ensuring the business targets the right products at the right customers at the right time.

This exciting new team comprises two key functions: Enablement and Sales Engineer Specialists. Enablement is responsible for making sure our go-to-market teams are optimized to deliver our strategic bets as a business. Our Sales Engineers Specialists are subject matter experts aligned to our key strategic product bets, with the remit to accelerate and scale product-line revenue growth. Recruitment for these functions is ongoing, and the successful candidate will help to shape the Market Development function, supporting the recruitment of a team of six full-time executives.

The role

The Director of Market Development US role is a new role. It is a critical addition to the GBG Americas management team and will report to the Global Head of Market Development – providing local Americas expertise with global support.

What you will do

  • Lead and manage the Market Development team – this includes the Enablement function and the Sales Engineer Specialist function
  • Drive a data-driven approach to customer and product segmentation
  • Collaborate closely with go-to-market teams (especially sales) to execute our business big bets – seeking to exceed revenue targets
  • Drive revenue growth in the US by leveraging our strategic product bets, growing existing customer accounts, and accelerating new business
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to build winning propositions
  • Implement tools, processes, and methodologies that accelerate growth
  • Provide market and strategic insight to the Americas leadership team

Requirements

  • Adept at transitioning between the strategic and operational – with the ability to create pragmatic action out of large amounts of information
  • Experience in market planning and proposition development
  • A strong communicator who can engage audiences of all seniorities
  • Someone who will consistently demonstrate a passion for GBG’s core values (see below)
  • Several years of experience in strategy, business development, sales, or related roles
  • Several years of experience in relevant B2B technology sectors – such as regulatory technology, enterprise software, SaaS, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools, platforms, and technologies relevant to the company's products or services.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership skills with proven management experience leading cross-functional teams and driving collaboration across departments.
  • Proficiency in sales enablement techniques, including training, content development, and sales tool implementation.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as sales enablement, product management, or project management may be advantageous.
  • A good sense of humor!
