POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Manufacturing is a highly technical leader with machining expertise who will oversee the Manufacturing Division of the company, ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
  • Assists Senior Leadership with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
  • Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
  • Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
  • Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
  • Oversees and participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing employees.
  • Oversees schedules and assignments for the company.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Work to reduce and eliminate barriers and obstacles to improve overall cost and scheduling performance.
  • Presents performance reports and metrics to the President and other leadership.
  • Your leadership is expected to make it easier for employees to make quality products and make it easier for customers to do business with GSM.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and workers and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
  • Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least ten years of experience in industrial management and machining required.
  • Proficient skills with MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to set overall strategy and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication and team-building skills.
