Position Summary:

  • Support the maximization of the performance of UHS' private payer contracted business in accordance with UHS strategic and financial directives

  • Participate in and coordinate contract negotiations, and assist in projecting their financial performance which includes the requirement to develop various modeled financial scenarios in conjunction with local and corporate Decision Support staff and the Regional Director, Managed Care for the West (Nevada) Region.

  • Lead specified contract negotiations at the direction of the Regional Director.

  • Ensure revenue cycle coordination among all functional areas required to maximize collections of expected revenues.

  • Assist the Regional Director in the evolving transition from traditional, fee-for-service revenue to fee-for-value and pay-for-performance models.

  • Assist the Regional Director in coordinating all efforts with appropriate staff responsible for the financial performance maximization of company-owned and managed physician practices (IPM).

  • Assist Regional Director in supporting due diligence and contracting efforts of UHS acquisitions in the state of Nevada region

Job Requirements

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices sufficient to maximize revenue generated from these sources.

  • Extensive knowledge of health care finance practices and methods.

  • Demonstrated managed care contract negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated inter-personal and written and verbal communication skills required in imparting and developing contract negotiation practices to Acute Care hospital executive management staff.

Regional Finance Director- Behavioral Health Hospitals * Primary functions to include financial statement accuracy, operational efficiency and accounts receivable management conduct monthly financial statement and operational reviews. The process is undertaken to subject the monthly financial statements and results of operations to an independent review and identify potential reporting errors or concerns. Any material misstatements of the financial results are corrected prior to the corporate consolidation and SEC reporting process. * Identify, analyze and assist in the presentation of new business opportunities. * Analyze, discuss, and make recommendations, with facility management teams and corporate administration, the financial impact of proposed operational changes * Recruit, manage and develop facilities' senior financial staff, CFO's, Controller's, Accountants, Business Office Managers. * Analyzes, discusses, and makes recommendations, with facility management and corporate administration, the financial impact of proposed operational changes. * Develops guidelines, assists facilities and reviews annual budget preparations * Develops standardized and current policies procedures and reporting mechanisms related to financial operations, reporting, and systems conversions at the facilities. * Works closely with CEO's and Regional VP's of Operations to coordinate financial and operational activities in the Group. * Provide all necessary financial support to facilities that have CFO vacancies. Including filling in as acting CFO when needed. Job Requirements * Minimum education requirement of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred * Eight years or more progressive experience as a CFO within an inpatient hospital setting. Experience as a Behavioral Health Hospital CFO is preferred. * Experience as a hospital based Divisional CFO, Regional CFO/Controller is preferred. * Experience directing hospital based Medical Records (HIM), Business Office, Materials Management and Accounting departments. * Experienced with information systems conversions, excellent computer skills on various systems.
