Description

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Logan University Health Center clinical educators and staff, Patient Services, Accounting Administrator, External Rotations Coordinator and Radiological Services

Summary Description: The Director of the Logan University Health Centers is responsible for overseeing daily operations of all sites including student, clinician and patient scheduling; patient care; clinical educational activities; and front desk, business functions, radiological services and external rotations.

The Director works collaboratively with clinical educators and staff members to ensure a student focused clinical training experience, quality patient care, and appropriate business practices, consistent with programmatic and institutional goals.

The Director works closely with the Associate Provost of College of Chiropractic (CoC) and other members of the CoC team to achieve programmatic and institutional outcomes and strategic priorities and using data to inform improvement. In addition, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and professional standards.

The Director will maintain expected professional standards and best practices in clinical education while being a leader in Whole Health education.

The Director will support and demonstrate the institutional mission, vision, and values while fostering a collaborative and respectful working environment.

Specific Duties:

  • Demonstrate leadership, direction, and oversight to clinical educators, clinic support staff, and radiological services.

  • Collaborate with CoC team members and clinical educators to ensure and maintain clinical educational experiences for students.

  • Create, maintain, and manage clinical educators, staff, and patient schedules for effective and efficient staffing and operations.

  • Provide guidance for student and clinical educator engagement in clinical training and patient care activities, including the implementation of SOPs, manuals, training materials, and communications.

  • Manage the collection and evaluation of student assessment data to demonstrate achievement of clinical competencies, internal programmatic benchmarks, and other requirements for progression through the clinical training.

  • Assist in early implementation of clinical experiences in the DCP.

  • Manage budget associated with Health Centers.

  • In collaboration with the CoC team, facilitate and ensure best practices of assessment and program effectiveness as it relates to the clinical portion of the program.

  • Participate in professional growth and development and provide meaningful evaluation of assigned clinical educators and staff members.

  • Ensure operational compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and accreditation requirements.

  • Collaborate on state and federal requirements, accreditation, and other applicable reporting.

  • Partners with other Logan University health care programs.

  • Participate in college and institutional committees as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Must be proficient with email, word processing, and spreadsheets. Basic math skills required. Must be a team player and self-starter.

Must be able to interact in a professional manner with internal and external constituents, including supervisors, team members, faculty and staff members, and students in a variety of academic and healthcare scenarios. Must be able to provide feedback in a concise, direct, non threatening manner. Must respond well under pressure.

Must have good project management skills and be able to complete projects on time. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities. Must be sensitive and attentive to privacy and confidentiality requirements. Must consistently demonstrate Logan University's values.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • DC degree from a CCE-accredited chiropractic program; Master's Degree in associated field preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chiropractic college clinical setting, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience of clinical educators and staff.

  • Chiropractic license in good standing with the Missouri Board of Chiropractic Examiners

  • Experience with budget development and management.

  • Experience leading a team in Health Care Setting higher education accreditation standards and processes.

  • Experience with the Whole Health Model of Care is preferred

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of computers, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Required as appropriate to the Degree possessed.

The employee must occasionally lift objects weighing 10 30 pounds and possibly up to 50 pounds. Close vision is needed to use a computer. Must have distance vision and depth perception for safety purposes.
