As the Robust.AI Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company's adherence to all laws, regulations, and requirements. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance and advice to our management, drafting and managing legal documents, overseeing all legal aspects of our business, and managing external legal firms as necessary. We are seeking applicants with a strong understanding of legal document management, statutory filing, and customer interaction during contract negotiations. The role demands excellent commercial and technology law skills, a deep knowledge of legal language and practices, and exceptional communication abilities. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced with commercial agreements, and capable of handling other legal aspects such as employment, property, intellectual property, and corporate matters by leveraging other legal experts as needed. The base pay range for this role is between $220,000 and $250,000, depending on your skills, qualifications and experience.

Main responsibilities;

• Offer legal guidance and advice to the leadership team and others in the company

• Clarify legal language and translate it to its effect on our business

• Ensure our company meets legal compliance standards

• Draft and review legal contracts and agreements

• Negotiate contract terms with customers and investors

• Review business and tax strategies to identify potential risks or opportunities

• Manage the company's relationship with other firms as needed (e.g. Corporate and IP)

• Guide management and liaise with outside counsel on litigation matters if needed

Skills and qualifications:

• Well-versed in legal terminology and operations

• Strong understanding of commercial law and applicable best practices

• Familiarity with corporate law and legal defense strategies

• Knowledge of current legislation practices

• Critical thinking and analytical skills

• Problem-solving mindset

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• JD or a similar legal degree

• 5+ years of professional experience at a transactional law firm or in-house at a venture-backed startup

• Required to attend monthly meetings in San Carlos, California
