Overview

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing learning & ongoing development for new hires & incumbents across all roles and company brands. In this role you will serve a key leader to enable us to take organizational performance and effectiveness to the next level through the development of enterprise-wide learning strategies and programs to build organizational capacity, capability and career progression. This role requires the ability to design and develop engaging learning programs, define and improve our new hire onboarding experience, create and implement a best-in-class employee recognition program and provide recurring reporting on results.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment of the learning and development needs across all levels of the enterprise; identify and prioritize the critical capabilities needed to effectively execute our growth strategy and deliver on annual goals. Recommend, develop and implement learning curricula and programs to meet short-term skill gaps while defining requirements for longer-term development program

  • Understand business priorities and proactively look for ways to improve processes to create efficiency and scale; lead the development and implementation of annual learning curriculum, ensuring organizational, departmental and individual development objectives are supported by a basic core curriculum

  • Oversee field training team to coordinate and conduct training, development and new store openings

  • Establish of formal individual development plan program; build strategy and oversee successful rollout of program

  • Build out formal and informal employee recognition program; build business case, identify vendor partners and oversee and maintain program

  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to develop talent solutions to attract, onboard, develop and retain talent; ensure a robust orientation/onboarding process for all new hires

  • Define an enterprise-wide talent progression and succession planning; serve as lead to develop plans to enable ability to build internal bench strength and support culture of internal growth

  • Ensure full ethical, legal and regulatory compliance training requirements are in place and met; conduct audit and ongoing oversight on the mandated compliance training programs to ensure that the programs are developed in coordination with established standards and are properly tracked within the learning management system

  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders across enterprise to review current training programs and conduct gap analysis; serve as in-house facilitator for team building and other training as needed

  • Conduct ongoing research and competitive benchmarking to ensure programs meet or exceed industry training standards and methodologies

  • Data analysis, reporting, and summarizing data for key stakeholders

  • Coach managers to create development plans for staff designed to provide growth opportunities in role through on-the-job learning, special projects, formal training, etc.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field

  • 10+ years of learning and organizational development experience, including hands-on training program design, development, implementation and facilitation

  • Experience in system implementation, configuration, and administration

  • Advanced knowledge of eLearning and microlearning instructional design methodology with experience in blended learning approach (e.g. ILT, vILT, elearning, microlearning)

  • Supervisory experience required

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success designing/delivering learning curricula including leadership development programs

  • Proven experience with LMS implementation and administration; demonstrated ability designing platforms for optimal end-user experience

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams with various stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships while supporting talent development across the organization

  • Excellent coaching, consultation and facilitation skills

  • Display superior verbal, written, presentation, coaching and facilitation skills

  • Strong technical skills including PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Google Suite is a plus

Who are we seeking? * A candidate with a minimum of 3 years of previous experience effectively supervising staff members; supervisory experience must include management of out-based staff members. * A dynamic individual who has previous demonstrated experience in the development (i.e. creation) and management of an event budget, annual multi-function budget (e.g. department with multiple employees or multiple departments). * Someone with demonstrated experience with planning and management of large scale events or activities for groups of at least 200 participants. * A candidate with demonstrated experience in the recruitment, management, training, motivation and retention of adult volunteers, who hold responsibilities for key organizational deliverables. * Someone with previous demonstrated experience working with the implementation/fulfillment of grants and grant reporting. * An individual with previous demonstrated experience working with, and engaging new, potential partners or collaborators, that further advance the organization's mission, strategy or goals. * A candidate with previous demonstrated experience working in the areas (or with professionals) on marketing and promotion, in order to achieve a participation or budget-related goal. What else will you need? * Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience. * Minimum of three years demonstrated supervisory staff experience. * Demonstrated supervisory experience of out-based staff. * A self-starter that demonstrates initiative and flexibility. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
