Job Description:
The Clinical Education Manager of the Undergraduate Nursing Program is responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical aspects of the nursing program. This role involves managing and optimizing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the overall effectiveness of the clinical education. Travel to clinical partners annually to evaluate the program, students, faculty and alumni. The Clinical Education Manager plays a critical role in shaping the clinical education experiences of nursing students, contributing to the success and future expansion of the nursing program. This position comes with a faculty rank and 9 teaching credits
Duties/Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with nursing faculty and curriculum committee to integrate simulation-based learning experiences into the nursing curriculum. Ensure alignment with program objectives, accreditation standards, and industry best practices.
Simulation Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing simulation laboratory, including scheduling, maintenance of equipment and supplies, and adherence to safety protocols.
Faculty Support and Training: Provide guidance and support to nursing faculty in the development and delivery of simulation scenarios. Conduct training sessions to enhance faculty competency in simulation pedagogy and technology.
Scenario Development: Design and develop realistic simulation scenarios that reflect clinical practice settings and patient populations encountered in nursing. Ensure scenarios address various levels of learner proficiency and promote critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessment tools and criteria for evaluating student performance in simulation-based learning activities. Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of simulation experiences and make recommendations for improvement.
Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in simulation technology and pedagogy.
Interprofessional Collaboration: Foster partnerships with other healthcare disciplines to facilitate interprofessional simulation experiences. Coordinate joint simulation activities to promote teamwork and communication skills among healthcare professionals.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for the nursing simulation laboratory, including expenditures for equipment, supplies, and maintenance. Seek grant funding and other sources of financial support as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of simulation technology and equipment, including proficiency in simulation software applications.
Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED regulatory requirements for nursing education programs.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in nursing education practices.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Qualifications:
Education: Master's in nursing, Doctorate preferred in nursing or related field
Experience:
Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New York.
Certificate in Clinical Simulation, CHSE preferred
Demonstrated experience in nursing education, with a focus on simulation-based learning.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
Salary:
The annual salary for this position is $90,000
Hours Expectation:
Full-time, 35 hours per week
