Job Title: Director of K12 Partnerships and Teaching Centers

Campus Location: Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a "home" location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)

Job Purpose: The overall purpose of this job is to provide upper level administrative support and leadership to the Division of High School Programs specifically providing leadership and oversight for early post-secondary opportunities (EPSO's) and K12 outreach including full oversight of the college's dual enrollment program for service area high schools. This position will require the ability to manage a fast-pace/high volume work environment while ensuring the highest quality work. This job will also provide direct oversight for all WSCC teaching site locations and centers including recruitment of students to sites/centers; provide leadership and assistance with admissions, registration, career planning, testing, retention services, student discipline issues as needed, and supervision of all staff at each teaching site and center; promote growth and leadership of WSCC's credit and non-credit programs for area specific diverse and underrepresented populations and course offerings at our K12 service area schools/districts and all WSCC site and center locations through relationships and interaction with local city and county officials, local chambers of commerce, boards of education, and business and industry.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide oversight and leadership of the college's entire Dual Enrollment Program as related to the admissions and registration processes, grant application, processing fees, and collecting required documents to promote growth. Communicate directly with faculty, academic division deans, and Workforce Training regarding the Dual Enrollment Program. Collaborate with and lead service area high school counselors and staff to ensure progress and growth of high school programs such as the College's Dual Enrollment Program and other Early Post-Secondary Opportunities and lead all efforts to increase enrollment of area specific diverse populations within both credit and non-credit programs at service area high schools/districts. Develop, administer, and provide quality improvement of policies and processes related to high school programs.

  • Serve as the chief administrator for all WSCC teaching sites and centers for both credit and non-credit courses at these locations; assist students, including those from a diverse background, in career mapping and goal setting to obtain their desired degrees/educational goals through both academic and Workforce Training courses/programs. Provide divisional leadership for all activities and responsibilities within the division in dean's absence and/or when directed by dean and/or Vice President.

  • Provide leadership in each county where teaching sites and centers are located to promote growth of WSCC's credit and non-credit programs and course offerings through relationships and interactions with local county officials, local chambers of commerce, boards of education, and business and industry.

  • Routinely visit the Walters State's service area high schools promoting WSCC programs and course offering for all Early Post-Secondary Opportunities offered within each high school utilizing strategic enrollment management practices and divisional leadership.

  • Leadership and oversight of all Faculty Feedback (early alert monitoring system) requests for all dual enrollment students; leadership and oversight of all Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation FAST verification requests for dual enrollment students for service area high schools; and lead all efforts for weekly/monthly/semester reporting for dual enrollment census (enrollment) and fee collection for service area high schools within the division.

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead Early Post-Secondary Opportunity information sessions/workshops at service area K12 districts and high schools. Work cooperatively with college-wide personnel, Tennessee Board of Regents staff, Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, and Tennessee Higher Education Commission to lead and support the College's mission including those from area specific diverse populations.

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead all student activity at all teaching site and center locations and serve as the lead administrator for other areas such as test proctoring, coordination of course offerings, and student engagement activities at these locations.

  • Oversight and leadership of all operations at WSCC teaching sites and centers encompassing division-related needs such as staffing, enrollment management, course offerings, dual enrollment for both credit and non-credit programs at all WSCC teaching sites and centers located within the 10 county service area.

  • Provide leadership and oversight with the introduction and SACSCOC compliance of new programs offered at each teaching site and center within the WSCC service area.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Business or highly related field

  • 3-5 years of experience specifically within or associated with K12 systems/districts

  • Working knowledge of the community college environment, best practices, and philosophy

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and demonstrated attention to detail from previous work experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage fast-pace/heavy volume work environment

  • Demonstrated ability in the development of student and academic services along with an understanding of high education services provided to business and industry

  • Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of computer software and standard office equipment (PC, phone, fax, email, copier, etc.), various academic software, and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of related experience specifically within K12 systems/districts

  • Post Master's Degree in Education, Business, or highly related field

  • Previous teaching experience in both the K12 system/district and the collegiate settings

  • 3-4 years of experience demonstrating ability to manage fast-pace/heavy volume work environment

  • Demonstrated ability in the development of student and academic services including services related to business and industry

  • Demonstrated good character, mature attitude and judgement, and stable personality with the ability to work with a variety of individuals

Leadership & Supervisory:

  • Collaborate with dual enrollment and college personnel on all campuses and all high school counselors/staff to provide leadership for growth and strategic planning and goal setting.

  • Perform analysis and interpretation that help build and manage the divisional budget in order to make decisions about expenditures/investments for the all divisional activities including the dual enrollment program and credit and non-credit courses for each teaching site and center.

  • Provide leadership in consultation with academic divisions to faculty, staff members, Workforce Training staff, and students, including those from area specific diverse backgrounds, at each WSCC teaching site and center.

  • Direct supervision for all staff at each WSCC teaching site and center and within High School Programs department

  • Divisional leadership and oversight of all partnerships with local stakeholders such as city/county officials, local chambers of commerce, boards of education, and business and industry to develop, promote, and execute enrollment management strategies for WSCC credit and non-credit programs and course offerings at each WSCC teaching site and center.

Environment & Working Conditions: Office environment is temperature controlled with occasional fluctuations. May be exposed to varying conditions when traveling to various work locations.
