About This Position
As the Director of Investments (Digital), you will be responsible for the fiduciary oversight of digital client accounts to ensure they are being managed to client objectives and our investment methodology. You will own the efficient and accurate delivery of all investment advice delivered through our digital investment services. As an early hire on the Investments team, you have the opportunity to shape innovative investment solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients. In collaboration with the Design, Product, and Engineering teams, you will construct algorithms and create financial product requirements to enhance our digital advisory offering and develop new features. You will design and lead the development of highly scalable and efficient systems for automating investment processes and risk controls. This role will also work closely with our client services team to answer questions about our investments and methodology, and with our engineering team to research and resolve client issues.
You have deep knowledge of and experience working with Monte Carlo and forecasting methods. Your investment experience leans towards the quantitative and you have outstanding research and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex financial problems to meet client needs within a compliant framework. You promote and support robust and systematic processes and are intellectually curious with exceptionally attention to detail. You are a strong advocate for our clients and embrace a culture of compliance.
Oversee client portfolios and ensure they are managed to client objectives and investment strategies
Develop written financial requirements to support product enhancements and new features
Work in cross-functional teams to develop investment solutions to address client needs and feedback
Proactively work to scale the investment process and make them more effective and efficient
Develop robust systems to mitigate risk, ensure advice quality, and proactively identify issues in the investment process
Collaborate with engineering to design and develop systems to automate oversight of client portfolios, validate key inputs and expected outputs, and handle exceptions
7+ years experience in quantitative portfolio or investment management function, ideally in a startup environment
CFA designation preferrred
Excellent problem solving skills, able to think creatively and innovatively
Experience developing or working with Monte Carlo methods in an investment context
Ability to translate investment solutions into engineering requirements
Familiar with portfolio operations, and able to resolve exceptions efficiently
Experience scaling and automating manual processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, and intellectually curious
Ability to juggle different roles and work effectively in a highly unstructured environment
Strong educational background
Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This includes working independently and on a team.
