Director of Inventory Planning

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced inventory management leader to lead the successful development, communication, and execution of sales and inventory strategies that support the financial plan as well as product, sales, gross margin, and inventory goals. The Sr. Manager is responsible for full pre-season financial planning, buy-planning, in-season management, allocation, and tools development and management for our ecommerce and growing retail businesses. Working closely with merchandising, production, marketing and finance, this individual will drive business results and evolve processes to achieve results in a growing business. Must thrive in a high growth, dynamic environment and have the ability to clearly communicate priorities. This position requires a high level of leadership, process management and communication skills and also the ability to effectively develop talent on the merchandise planning team. and establish and nurture strong cross-functional relationships.
What you'll do:
Lead the seasonal hindsight process for planning & merchandising, providing direction around key initiatives and delivering a framework from which the teams can effectively evaluate performance.
Proactively guide and influence in-season financial management, including open to buy forecasting, pricing decisions, and demand driven buying decisions to deliver financial goals
Build and create context for guiding product and seasonal planning in a business with complex growth and seasonality history.
Develop and communicate comprehensive channel financial & product strategies in line with budget.
Actively partner with the merchandising team to identify and drive opportunities to optimize store and online performance.
Oversee financial strategies including pricing, promotions and markdowns that are optimized to deliver financial targets. Partner with store merchandising and ops team to ensure quarter, month, and daily targets are accurate and support financial plan.
Lead monthly open-to-buy forecasting partnering with merchandising and Company Planning on assessing opportunity and risk.
Partner with Company Planning/Finance on annual and quarterly budget process
Drive for continual improvement and innovation to support business by identifying and developing creative ideas and talents of others.
Able to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.
Data Driven with strong attention to detail and able to successfully balance quantitative and qualitative information when recommending appropriate strategies and tactics.
Able to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficient in retail math
A strong analytical thinker and problem-solver with a track record of driving results through innovative solutions and ability to look ahead and impact future business.
A clear and effective written and verbal communicator with strong listening skills and the ability to communicate an appropriate sense of urgency when necessary.
Experienced in successfully managing a large scope of responsibility and cross-functional business partners.
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field
8-10 year's work experience within the Retail Sector, preferable in Inventory Management with exposure to brick and mortar as well as ecommerce.
Proficiency with MS Excel, Google Suite
