Job Responsibilities for Director of Intervention & Development.
Leads the design, development, and administration/implementation of programs, plans, systems, and procedures to cultivate a high impact in intervention services across the company.
Manages and oversees programs such as:
Academy visits to provide support for at-risk children
Professionally develops, coaches, and provides feedback of intervention team, academy management and teachers.
Provides instructional support and development by providing:
In-class support, modeling, mentoring on inclusive practices and accommodations.
Facilitates in-class coaching, technical assistance, training, guidance for Response-to-Intervention/MTSS, PIS, SEL and inclusive practices.
On-going professional development in inclusive practices, mental health and wellness, social emotional learning support, best practices, developmental stages, screenings, and evaluations.
Review and evaluation lesson plans/activities to ensure cultural, linguistical, and developmentally appropriate that includes levels of ability, interest, development rates.
Makes informed decisions made based on the collection, analyzation, and reporting.
Case management required that includes but is not limited to:
Participates and implements individualized education plans.
Ensure programming meets students individual needs
Acts in liaison capacity for children, youth, and families.
Attends meetings and trainings with program partners .
Facilitates and monitors implementation of targeted scheduling for weekly visits.
Communicates with field leaders weekly to provide compliance updates for academies regarding child development screening, referrals, monitoring, data collection, Intervention/PBIS/MTSS, practices, and reporting.
Conducts formal and informal evaluations of site-based program compliance.
Complete program specific site-visit reports to document planned scheduled weekly visits.
Conduct routine needs assessments and other research necessary for completing academy self-assessments for programmatic improvement.
Create and distribute internal technical assistance reports to regional staffing and leadership for the continuous effective communication, teaming, and systematic collaboration
Coordinates with academy leaders, teaching staff, families, program partners and community-based stakeholders such as early intervention and behavioral health, to obtain and deliver necessary support and services.
Collaborate with the Education/Quality Assurance Team to assist in-class teaching personnel in the provision of specialized programming and differentiated instruction.
Encourage a continuous exchange of ideas and maintains positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and the Intervention team.
Collaborates with family advocates and family engagement specialists
Flexible work schedule is necessary to accommodate the responsibilities of this position with frequent travel including overnights.
Proficiencies for Director of Intervention & Development.
Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and educational frameworks for the promotion of academic, behavioral social emotional skills of typically and atypically developing children including, but not limited to Response to Intervention, Multi-tiered Systems of Supports, SEL, Positive Behavioral Supports and inclusive practices, among other best practice
Familiar with best practices in working with children with social emotional needs and/or unique and complex behaviors
Strong knowledge of PA regulations, compliance policies and procedures for special education as guided by IDEA Part B, C and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
Possess friendly but stern disposition

Education/Experience for Director of Intervention & Development.
Master's degree in Special Education, Behavioral Health, or Early Childhood Education with five years leadership and five years' experience working with children/youth from low-income families with special needs and two years' experience managing or coaching others with a Special Education Certification is qualifying. PQAS Certification is a noted plus or the ability to obtain this certification within the first six months of employment is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong interpersonal and presentation skills with intermediate MS Office skills.
