The Director of Intermediary Services will support the Senior Vice President with all operations and management of Career Connected Learning. This person will be responsible for oversight of the program analysts as well as developing systems as it relates to Career Connected Learning. They will provide support and lead efforts for orientation, management, and continuous improvement to ensure a high quality, citywide system of C2L-PHL youth

About Career Connected Learning PHL:

Career Connected Learning PHL ("C2L-PHL") is the new initiative for work-based learning and career exploration for Philadelphia residents ages 12-24. The initiative is a streamlined investment between the City of Philadelphia, the School District of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia Works. On behalf of these partners, JEVS Human Services will serve as a Fiscal and Contracting Intermediary responsible for managing and overseeing a large network of youth service providers. Providers will operate year-round work-based learning programs, during the summer and/or school year, for youth and young adults to explore different career paths, gain hands-on experience, and develop essential skills. Activities will include but are not limited to internships, job shadowing, career exploration, professional development, and other experiential learning projects. The primary objectives of C2L-PHL programs are:

  • Youth are given access and experiences to explore different career paths and fields.

  • Youth are equipped with the tools and skills they need to explore, set, and achieve career goals.

  • Youth know how to identify and utilize their strengths and passions to inform career decisions.

This role is hybrid, at least 3 days in office (in Center City) are required weekly.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support for new projects, system implementations, and initiatives related to assigned areas.

  • Develop efficiency and capacity of staff through comprehensive training plans. Ensure delivery of quality training to staff. Provide continuous feedback on performance.

  • Prepare written reports, both statistical and narrative.

  • Leads and participate in supervisory meetings, unit meetings and division meetings on an ongoing basis.

  • Leads all contract compliance and achievement of program goals.

  • Participate in additional programmatic and agency-wide activities as assigned.

  • Acts as a strategic advisor to the Senior Vice President.

  • Supervises the program analysts (4).

  • Maintains relationship with providers, worksites and external stakeholders related to C2L.

  • Represents Senior Vice President in meetings, by email, and phone calls with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Works with the Senior Vice President' to align calendar/email and prioritizes time and schedule.

  • Drafts letters, emails, reports, and other correspondence on behalf of the Senior Vice President.

  • Ensures timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the C2L.

  • Researches, recommends and supports in implementation of new and revised policies and strategies.

  • Creates and maintains systems and processes to streamline operations.

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

  • Provides ongoing tactical support to implement ideas.

  • Serves as the lead and primary source in developing proposals or continuation applications for the system.

  • Bachelor's degree in the social service field, Master's degree preferred.

  • Passion for supporting youth and young adults.

  • Experience with workforce and training programs for youth or adults.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Experience with database management such as Salesforce or other CRM software.

  • Experience cultivating and managing partnerships with community and advocacy organizations and/or government entities.

  • Project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to various locations throughout the city.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Successfully passing background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting).

The base pay for this position ranges from $74,000 to $92,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
