Job Summary

Under general direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Director of Instruction and Professional Learning shall provide leadership and focus for the development, coordination, articulation, implementation and evaluation of instructional quality and content of Adult curriculum and instructional materials, technology infusion and professional development programs for Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools. Shall have supervision over Academic Program Coordinators and other certificated and classified staff as assigned.

Letter of Reference (optional) 3. Proof of Highest Level of Education . Hold a valid California teaching credential and three years of classroom teaching experience. . 2 years prior management and supervisory experience is preferred. . Administrative Credential or enrollment in Administrative Credential program is required. . The position requires working knowledge of program goals and objectives, procedures and regulations. Requires a well-developed knowledge of school administrative services, programs for developing and retaining teachers, and services for retaining and engaging students, parents/families, and communities. . Requires working knowledge of the roll of cultural, social, and related activities in student engagement.

Requires working knowledge of community demographics. Requires a basic knowledge of the professional development programs that enhance teaching. Requires well-developed knowledge of and skill at using computers, office productivity applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics, and specialized data management programs used in education.

Requires well-developed writing skills to prepare brochures, technical materials, and reports. Requires math skills sufficient to read and analyze financial statements. Requires well-developed human relation skills to make formal presentations, facilitate group processes, and exercise sensitivity to diverse populations.

. Requires the ability to carry out all aspects of the job. Requires the ability to convert program goals into action plans.

Requires the ability to evaluate program outcomes. Requires the ability to plan, prioritize, and assign work in order to meet yearly schedules and timelines. Requires the ability to facilitate meetings and processes involving diverse groups.

Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information. Requires the ability to secure funding, secure local interagency partnerships, and accomplish goals within financial limitations. Requires the ability to maintain productive and cooperative working relationships with others. . The ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality Board Approved Date: 07-09-2020 . The ability to communicate with a diverse group of people on a daily basis . Possession of a valid California driver's license . Willingness to work additional hours on occasion . Willingness to travel within and out of state, using own transportation with mileage reimbursement
