Overview

Cracker Barrel is seeking a Director of Infrastructure who will lead a team of dedicated Infrastructure professionals in operating our current technology infrastructure, develop the roadmap for advancing both our infrastructure technology and approach, and deliver a secure, stable, and cost effective environment for operating our store, guest, and corporate technology.

Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and develop technology professionals to deliver innovative, reliable, and stable enterprise infrastructure.

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction for Infrastructure including data center, cloud, and networking.

  • Protect and secure our infrastructure environment evangelizing and implementing industry best practices in partnership with our Security leader.

  • Champion automation to drive team productivity and platform reliability.

  • Develop capacity planning for compute, storage, and networking in both our data center and cloud environments.

  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical enterprise infrastructure.

  • Build strong vendor relationships to deliver strategic business value, reliable platforms, and desirable financial results.

  • Help manage operating budgets for data center, cloud, and networking with an eye to efficiency and operating margins.

  • Oversee the purchasing, contracting, and renewal of infrastructure hardware, software, and services.

  • Develop high availability and business continuity plans to ensure availability of critical infrastructure during emergency situations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline. Five years of progressive experience managing enterprise infrastructure and networking with public clouds and data centers for a company with over 500 branch locations.

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.

  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current hardware, network, telecom, and operating systems including relevant protocol, standards, and best practices.

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Productivity solutions both on-premises (including Exchange) and Office 365 (migration experience desirable).

  • Proven operation of multi-region Public Cloud environments including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) on either AWS or Microsoft Azure.

  • Well versed in modern network and communications offerings including Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), SD-WAN, and Voice-Over-IP (VoIP).

  • Knowledgeable in security, compliance, and data privacy law and best practices including SOX, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.

  • Experience with HA (high availability), BCP (business continuity processes), and DR (disaster recovery) planning and solutions.

  • Ability to develop and manage capital and expense budgets.

  • Strong ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

  • Restaurant or retail technology experience preferred.

SCHEDULE The Inspection Centers operate two shifts. First shift is M-F from 6:00AM to 3:00PM. The Second shift is a 4-day work week M-Thurs from 3:30PM to 2:30AM. The hours for this position will be 8:30 am – 5:30 pm in order to have visibility into both shifts. RESPONSIBILITIES As a People Operations Ambassador, you will be focused on all things people for our Inspection Center team. We are looking for an energetic self-starter to administer policies and implement programs to effectively impact our most important resources – our people. This person will utilize his/her skills in the areas of coaching, staffing, training, engagement and compliance including but not limited to: * Onboarding – You will work with our home office onboarding team to ensure that Inspection Center onboarding is consistent with company process and that the employee is well informed and energized on their first day. * Recruiting and Interviewing – You will be a representative for Carvana at local recruiting events and a part of the interview process for candidates at the Inspection Center. * Events planning and execution – You will be the point person for planning internal and local community events at the inspection center. * Employee concerns – In partnership with IC management, you will be a point person for employee concerns and assist with addressing these concerns. This includes assisting with issues pertaining to leaves of absence, workers' compensation, terminations, and disability accommodations * Human resources related paperwork – You will be responsible for assisting with human resources related paperwork such as accident reports and employee performance discussion records to ensure that these are filled out completely and accurately * Culture and morale – You will be a part of the team responsible for having a pulse on the Inspection Center culture and employee morale * Liaison with home office People Operations team – You will be the connector between the Inspection Center and our home office people operations department.
