POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Import Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing all quality of imported product. This role ultimately ensures that product reaches our consumers undamaged, is designed to delight consumers, and meets our customers' expectations and contractual obligations. This role will analyze all return processes and reasons as well as online ratings to steer root cause analysis for improvement. This role will be responsible for all quality processes within the distribution facility and supply chain and will also aid in packaging and product design with import R&D functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Analyze all return data using analytics to drive to specific problem statements (i.e., customer, lane, item, channel trends). This includes transportation data, spare part data, and customer claims.
Perform analysis on competitive products for insights.
Make recommendations to improve product and product packaging that better withstand the NA supply chain. Establish consistent third-party testing and packaging engineering reviews.
Establish/enhance finished product inspection standards.
Assess all customer contracts for clear requirements and thresholds. Make recommendations to sales/finance for potential change.
Collaborate with the Israel Quality team on a regular basis to implement a "closed loop" quality control system; a continuous cycle of identifying problems, analyzing their causes, suggesting corrective actions, then monitoring to ensure those actions are being implemented and are effective.
Collaborate with warehouse management/teammates on continuous improvement projects including implementation and management of AQL processes.
Implement a regular Category Damage Review meetings with the North America leadership team.
Work with the Finance and Sales teams to compile supporting data and CAPA to support customer damage claims recovery
Manage the rework and product investigations process, including opening product and evaluating packaging and product conformity and auditing.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in Quality Systems, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business Administration
General Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000, AS9100 or TS16949.
Certified Quality Systems Auditor (Preferred).
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (Preferred) with ability to expand to Black Belt
5-7 years' experience working within quality in a manufacturing environment.
2-3 years' experience managing 3rd party finished product testing
2-3 years of project management experience
Experience in developing action plans to support resolution
Experience in understanding statistical analytical skills, metrics and KPIs
Experience in the creation, implementation, and execution of a quality plans.
Experience in producing SOP's, work instructions, and quality criteria or specifications.
Experience in ecommerce quality testing and shipping requirements preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to effectively manage high degree of multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines (24 hours or less)
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong negotiating, collaboration, solution selling and relationship building capabilities in an internal and customer facing role.
Strong communication skills and ability to train others.
Strategic thinking, ability to develop and drive a concept through to completion.
