Overview

The Director of Image Production Studio will provide leadership and direction for our Image Production Studio. Their soild background of being in the studio themselves, a hands on creative, will help them direct the teams abilities. The role will report to the Global Managing Director and oversee three managers.

Responsibilities

  • Direct management of the Image Production Studio

  • Provide support, leadership and strategic direction to direct reports and extended teams

  • Act as a key point of escalation across your teams and client stakeholders

  • Develop strong and trusting relationships with your direct teams and client stakeholders, including client Managers and wider client teams

  • Ensure your teams have the correct resources in place to effectively manage the SOW

  • Work with client stakeholders across all 3 teams in the Image Production Studio to understand the strategic vision and provide recommendations and SME on how Hogarth can deliver this vision

  • Work with the Recruitment team on hiring new team members, ensuring we continue to bring in the highest calibre and talented individuals

  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies across your teams, including skills audit, automation opportunities and cross utilization of resources across your teams

  • Understand the key skills within the team and identity opportunities for up skilling and/or bringing additional skills into the team

  • Solid understanding of the nature of the work and cadence in order to recommend the optimum structures and skills to deliver effectively

  • Lead by example, embracing the Hogarth values through interactions with the immediate team, broader teams and management

  • Work with the leadership team to instill the Hogarth values and build the Hogarth culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business or computer graphics or equivalent; MBA preferred

  • Minimum 20 years of prior experience in of related experience with at least ten of those as a production executive and/or facility management with strong understanding of business financials

  • Demonstrated experience and measurable success in production and /or visual effects/animation within the marketing and or entertainment industry

  • A strong leader with a proven ability to influence and motivate others at the senior executive and staff levels while being a team player and consensus builder

  • Provide Image Studio strategy and planning for upcoming launches and updates to ensure production capabilities are understood and considered

  • Act as the company spokesperson, both internally and externally, to represent the company's position on a wide variety of pursuits

  • Continually looks for ways to enhance productivity through process improvements, task automation and new technology

  • Create a world-class environment to attract the best talent pool in the creation of CGI product and lifestyle images

  • Ability to communicate conceptual and strategic thinking/plans with senior executives and Creative Directors across multiple business units and able to deliver the companies direction and objectives to a creative staff

  • Proven ability to manage change, and multi-task with parallel or overlapping businesses and/or products

  • Must exhibit an affinity for entertainment/lifestyle products and possess a strong sense of aesthetics applicable to producing high quality products

  • High achievement in hiring and leading creative talent in a fast paced production environment required. Must have successfully developed and managed people, resources and schedules with a world renowned production, animation and/or entertainment company

  • Must have extensive knowledge of production, operations, services and commercial

  • Demonstrate exceptional organization, communication and management skills

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to build a world class production studio

  • Oversee a team of 60 artists

  • An active member of the leadership team of Hogarth California

Core responsibilities will include project management, resources management, client managament.This role will report to the studio's director. This role will be responsible for running productions, managing relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities * Provide production strategy and planning for upcoming launches and updates to ensure production capabilities and client's expectations are understood and considered. * Leads by example and maintains a very positive and welcoming team culture. * Participate in project kickoffs, content meetings, reviews, and other project based meetings as needed. * Main escalation point for the client and production * Facilitate relationships between external and internal partners, ensuring up-to-date information is communicated. * Manage scope of content and communicate scope and timing fluctuations to all stakeholders. * Must possess exceptional organization, time management, excellent verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize. * Flexibility and resilience are key to this role as you may be required to work extended hours, multi-task and solve unexpected challenges * Proven ability to build relations and work effectively across many stakeholders. * Ability to work with cross-functional teams and adapt to cultural differences. * Client facing experience is a must * Provides administrative support to the studio, responsible for generating weekly reports and communicating challenges * Tracks and maintains database of revisions and changes; notifies the affected stakeholders as needed * Partners with other Production personnel to ensure images are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner * Follows up with artists on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule, communicating any scheduling changes to the appropriate clients, supervisors and production manager as needed Qualifications * Requires a minimum bachelor's degree. * Proven success managing productions in an agency, CG studio or marketing communications environment. * Prior experience growing and leading artists. * Understanding of file specifications; resolution, color space and other technical requirements of assets needed for image production for digital and print. * Experienced using excel * Highly skilled at overseeing project plans * Familiar with PMI tools and techniques * Highly skilled in project management or content management systems such as MS project, FastTrack, OminPlan, JIRA, Basecamp, or similar software. * Previous studio and agency experience specifically working on CG and post-production pipelines. * Experienced with tight deadlines, production changes. Must be able to make decisions independently with a high level of ingenuity. * Able to problem solve and stay calm in fast pace environments. * Experience managing CG pipelines using Maya, vRay, Nuke, Photoshop. * Previous experience in CG production a must.
