Job Description: Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for all phases of human resources within a facility to include recruiting, orientation, employee relations, training, employee data maintenance, benefits and termination procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide support and guidance to facility management and employees with a focus on consistent employment practices.

  • Develop, manage and administer various human resource plans and procedures for all facility personnel.

  • Conduct recruitment: activity to include advertising, internal job posting, application screening, coordination of interviewing, extending offers of employment and completing necessary paperwork. Develop and maintain tracking system for open positions.

  • Maintain personnel files, including training records and all necessary new hire paperwork.

  • Responsible for leading, motivating and assessing diverse teams, including experienced and junior professionals.

  • Provide guidance on interpretation of policies and procedures while serving as known expert in subject matter with a broad knowledge and understanding of HR functional areas.

  • Work with managers to resolve and prevent employee relations issues by coaching and training.

  • Ensure complete and consistent Human Resources documentation, including but not limited to documentation of disciplinary actions and training compliance.

  • Timely initial and on-going verification of licenses including background, driving record, professional and other checks as designated by state regulations. Assure necessary action taken expeditiously if policy standards are not met.

  • May include managing and directing subordinate staff to identify goals and objectives.

  • Handle complex and sensitive employee relations and human resources issues that have organizational impact or legal ramifications.

  • Advise managers on performance management, workforce planning and compensation.

  • Enter and maintain all employee information in UltiPro (HRIS).

  • Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field required.

  • Three to five years' previous experience in a Human Resources related role with demonstrable knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, labor relations and negotiation and human resources information systems required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Professional certification in Human Resources preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: * Oversee performance of end-to-end provider servicing * Resolve complex problems and provide guidance to members of own team * Drive the design and implementation of programs that build / nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers and practice managers * Ensure implementation of training and education programs for external providers * Identify gaps in network composition and services to assist network contracting and development teams * Support initiatives to achieve measurable improvements in the provider service experience for the market * Support Provider issue resolution with internal teams and follow up with providers to close the loop of issues * Monitor industry trends and resources and defines opportunities to enhance provider service offerings * Attend provider expos, events and seeks out opportunities to hold provider lunch and learn events * Demonstrate an expert understanding of claims processes and can work through problems to find a solution * Understand how a provider's office operates and understands their challenges * Develop an intimate knowledge of the Providers' practice / Hospital team * Take time to understand the challenges faced by the Provider specific to administration simplification, Healthcare Reform, etc. * Bring the "voice of the provider" to help shape outreaches being undertaken by UHC * Demonstrates the ability to use data analytics to solve problems * Build relationships with providers and internal contacts You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * 2+ years of provider relations experience * 2+ years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations (preferably TennCare Medicaid) * 2+ years of experience with managed care * Experience / knowledge of behavioral health * At least an intermediate level of knowledge of billing and claims processing * Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel * Ability to travel locally 25-50% * Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role.
