We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Director of HR Shared Services. The Director, HR Shared Services (HRSS) is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, coordination and evaluation of the HRSS team. The HRSS Director develops, designs and reviews relevant programs, policies, practices and procedures, and directs staff in the management and implementation of programs related to processes and procedures. The HRSS Director provides input to strategic decisions that affect the overall HR function, including on boarding and HR policies and seeks to continuously elevate the standards of service delivery


  • Leads and directs the HRSS function in keeping with the desired culture of the organization

  • Understands the business agenda and aligns relevant HRSS resources and programs to support the organizations goals and objectives

  • Responsible for reporting of HR metrics

  • Responsible for enhancements to the workflow as it relates to HR tickets, notification to new employees, hiring managers, IT, etc.

  • Ensures regulatory compliance for all relevant programs

  • Ensures audits that identifies inconsistencies in the data are executed and handled in a timely manner

  • Champions process improvement work that drives efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Plans, creates, directs and drives policies, processes and procedures relating to all phases of HRSS activity that support divisional goals and that fit within budgetary guidelines

  • Develops effective working relationships with the management level in the organization to ensure alignment of HR strategies with the needs of the organization

  • Earns credibility and trust by providing thoughtful, responsive, pro-active and business savvy solutions to organization needs

  • Anticipates organizational needs and provides timely solutions, suggestions, and/or programs

  • Devises and implements actions that best align the team, department, and individual goals with the overall business strategy

  • Works with IT to ensure functionality of ESS, MSS and SharePoint

  • Ensure content in SharePoint is updated and reviewed regularly

  • Responsible for relationships with unemployment, verification of employment, I-9, background and drug vendors

  • Serves as subject matter expert on customer service practices for the assigned area

  • Serves as subject matter expert on systems including Oracle, iCims, Mir3, Equifax, Hire-rite and Service Now

  • Serves as subject matter expert on HR Services, Recruiting, and Onboarding knowledge

  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and guidelines are well documented and useable for the team

  • Ensures Policy and Procedures are well documented and useable for the team

  • Ensures effective escalation process to ensure resolution of all inquiries

  • Champions the use of case management to log case, monitor case and escalate inquiries

  • Routinely uses metrics and feedback for continuous improvement of business processes

  • Monitors customer satisfaction and elevates issues of dissatisfaction for quick resolution

  • Establishes a metrics-driven and customer focused culture within the assigned team

  • Assists in the resolution of highly complex and escalated workforce administration issues and situations; makes final determination on these issues and acts appropriately

  • Ensures continuous process improvement; measures effectiveness of current processes.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Reads and abides by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs

  • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company

  • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Inspires, trains, coaches, and mentors team

  • Responsible for managing non-exempt and potentially exempt employees

  • Plans and conducts performance appraisals and talent assessments of staff, recommends merits, bonuses and promotions and administers corrective actions when necessary


  • Ability to develop and continuously improve HR processes and procedures that are aligned to the organizational and divisional goals

  • Demonstrated experience with supporting systems and technology (e.g. Oracle, iCims, and Service Now)

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to analyze and determine how systems interface and identify problems that arise

  • Expert knowledge and experience in data and record management

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, organizational skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to lead in a collaborative environment, build consensus and promote the exchange of information among team members

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to inspire and communicate effectively

  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities


  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S. /B.A.) from four-year College or University and 10 or more years' experience in HR with 5 or more at the managerial level; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • MBA preferred

  • Successful track record in people and project management

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

Certificates and Licenses:

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
