Director Of Hospice

The Mary T Family of Companies is hiring for a Director of our Hospice division of care, based out of Coon Rapids, MN.

The Director of Hospice is responsible for overseeing the management of the Hospice division of care within our company. This position will establish and implement strategies to best support the vision and mission of the organization through the identification of new business opportunities, the management of existing teams, and increasing operating performance. This position requires regulatory knowledge, business knowledge, and administrative skills to foster growth and profitability for the Hospice line of business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES

• Manage day to day operations including patient and staff issues, candidate interviews, oral and written communications to variety of internal and external individuals and organizations.

• Develop and implements strategies and operational goals that support the strategic direction of Hospice.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and demands, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Ensure that patient care meets patient expectations

• Ensures policies and procedures are maintained.

• Create an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to departmental managers. Manage employee performance and staffing needs.

• Organized and impromptu meetings with individual staff or teams, providing direction and support.

• Work with other teams to ensure collaboration for shared goals.

• Identify, assess, and inform the Leadership Team of internal and external issues affecting the organization, specifically regarding the teams accountable for.

• Ensure staff follow organizations HR policies.

• Oversight of hiring, training, discipline of staff.

• Authorize new expenditures.

• Coordinate communicate between patient, families and staff.

• Ensure accurate billing and receivables

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

• Active RN license in Minnesota, in good standing, preferred

• Valid driver's license

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership and supervision experience, preferably in a hospice setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Strong Leadership skills

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

• Strong financial mindset: budget preparation, financial analysis

• Strong conflict resolution and problem solving

• Strong analytical skills.

• Knowledge of hospice operations

• Self-driven - work independently

• Basic math skills

• Basic computer skills with the ability to become proficient in company software and data systems

• Strong influencing and negotiating skills

• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
