Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of High School Redesign, this role will work in collaboration with school-based staff, network level leaders, and external partners to implement a healthcare career connected learning model at targeted campuses across the network. The primary focus of this role will be on leading the planning and implementation of academic programming for Mastery's partnership with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to transform our Hardy High campus in to a health care career connected learning academy.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with external partners to develop career connected learning electives in close collaboration with the Senior Director of High School Redesign
Partner with school-based staff and leaders to develop a robust student recruitment strategy for health care career connected learning programs
Work in partnership with the network's communications team to develop a robust family engagement strategy for the campuses implementing a health care career connected learning model
Project manage the various scopes of work associated with career connected learning curriculum development and work-based learning modules
Partner with school-based leaders and external partners to develop work-based learning experiences, including job shadowing and internships
Monitor off campus work-based learning experiences to ensure the facilitation of high impact learning experiences for all students
Actively participate in and present draft deliverables via internal Mastery steering committee meetings and external stakeholder engagement meetings to ensure a strong focus on feedback gathering, alignment and coordination
Develop and launch high-quality summer programming with external partners focused on deepening student skills, interests and excitement in STEM-related careers
Plan and coordinate health career awareness programming via in-class guest speakers, visiting health care professional teachers and other efforts
Other Job Functions:
Develop quarterly reporting for all career connected learning metrics to share with school leaders and network leaders
Support the recruitment, coaching, professional learning and development of CTE and career pathway teachers
Provide professional development on career connected learning models for Network Support Team (NST) and school leaders
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Career and Technical Education regulations and policies preferred
High degree of emotional intelligence and adaptive leadership skills
Ability to lead within a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly-changing environment
Zest, a sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and a one team spirit
Ability to travel between school sites
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of five years of experience developing and leading high school programming, career connected learning and/or work-based learning
