How you'll make a difference:

As a Director of Transportation & Packaging, you'll lead development and implementation of a strategic roadmap to drive efficiency for our packaging and shipping services. This role will lead our efforts toward becoming a world class shipping organization, including driving cost savings and performance optimization to meet the needs of all business lines and ensure a great customer experience. We're looking for a strong leader and creative problem solver that is able to identify current and future opportunities and turn ideas into action. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial-type leader looking to work in a fast-paced, fun, energetic and innovative company. This role will report to our VP of Supply Chain.

What you'll do:

Shipping and packaging optimization is integral to keeping cost down and customers happy. To deliver in this role, you'll:

  • Source new shipping solutions and carriers to optimize time in transit and cost for all business lines

  • Ensure all services and carriers we utilize meet our high standards of reliability to ensure we provide a great customer experience

  • Ensure we have best cost and service for all packaging needs

  • Ensure all packaging specs provide best ship cost optimization

  • Own inventory management at all decorators to minimize stock gaps

  • Develop, train, and foster collaboration and alignment

  • Develop strong relationships and regular meeting cadence to align on direction and needs organization wide

  • Direct leadership over the Shipping & Packaging team

  • Deliver best in class efficiency and strategy around packaging and shipping optimization

How you'll be measured:

Our Director of Shipping & Packaging will drive optimization of costs and performance associated with shipping partners. Success will be measured by:

  • Shipping COGS, including performance and optimization of packaging

  • Building and driving innovative solutions to optimize shipping processes/relationships

  • Building and developing a high-performing team

  • Serving as a strong cross-functional thought partner and impactful participant across leadership teams

  • Integration with other areas of the business to drive alignment and enhancements that impact the organization as a whole

What we're looking for:

This role is a great opportunity join our Supply Chain team and make great things happen for our customers. To be successful we're looking for:

  • Proven track record of creative problem solving and driving impact

  • Demonstrated expertise in small packaging shipping, ideally with an established e-commerce company or a major shipping carrier

  • Self-starter with mindset to independently prioritize needs and opportunities of the business and ensure optimal outcomes

  • Ability to cultivate relationships to gain market insights and set team up for success

  • Demonstrated drive, business acumen, analytical decision making and implementation skills

  • Ability to identify areas for improvement, assess opportunities, and implement solutions

  • Propensity for utilizing data to understand trends and inform good business decisions

  • Drive and tenacity including the ability to address performance issues directly and candidly with care while problem solving along the way

  • Experience in fast-pace, challenging, and metric driven environments
