This position contributes to the success of Rusnak Automotive Group (the Company) by successfully managing the efficient and profitable operation of the Service and Parts departments.


  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the departments and strives to meet them.

  • Hires, trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of the service and parts department managers.

  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the service and parts departments.

  • Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the manufacturer.

  • Attends managers meetings.

  • Monitors the performance of the Service and Parts departments.

  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the departments and with all other departments.

  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.

  • Holds weekly department meetings.

  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.

  • Fosters professional employee development and coordinates with department managers to determine need for advanced training.

  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.

  • Makes customer satisfaction a department priority, ensuring that service and parts personnel are courteous and respectful in their interaction with customers.

  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.

  • Administers warranty claims, reviews warranty policy adjustments, understands and applies warranty guidelines, ensures correct processing of claims, and communicates warranty information and clarifications to customers.

  • Develops dealership service and parts pricing plans and recommends to dealer or general manager

  • Works with parts and service managers to find ways to improve the overall profitability of the dealership.

  • Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases.


  • Required: Minimum of 5 years in position of Director of Operations or similar positionsautomotive industry.

  • Required: H.S. Diploma/GED/ or Equivalent.

  • Desired: Degree in Business Management or related field, or equivalent of 5 years' experience in same/similar position.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong or Good verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual in English and other language is an asset in this position).

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.

  • Required: Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Key contributor in the administration of all defined benefit, defined contribution plans (including but not limited to: 401(k) & profit sharing plans, cash balance pension plan, deferred compensation plans, etc.) and health and welfare benefits * Leads and manages various complex compensation related projects (company-wide fair pay reviews, establishing salary ranges, career ladder programs, fiduciary related projects, etc.) * Works collaboratively with the team on various compensation items including but not limited to: prepare an annual executive compensation binder for all benefit plans, conduct and support various audits, actively track compensation survey/trends to provide recommendations to management, etc. * Actively managing leave of absences and worker's compensation in a multi-state environment. * Set strategic and operational goals for the team with a keen focus on process improvement, automation, and compliance. * Provides support with overall benefits administration including but not limited to: develop various communication and training materials, coordination of various benefit providers, benefit compliance, annual benefit open enrollment, answer day-to-day inquiries, budgets, research and recommend new offerings, etc. * Evaluate benefit providers and make recommendations to management, as needed. * Manages compensation and benefits benchmark efforts to ensure our practices remain above industry standard * Overall oversight of executive compensation * Ensures plans are current, accurately accounted and comply with all government/state regulations. Work closely with third parties to ensure compliance. Amend and restate documents either by plan sponsor request or legislative changes, as necessary * Along with the team, the incumbent will be responsible for overall compensation administration including but not limited to: annual merit increase planning, bonus and incentive plan administration, preparing and processing annual salary worksheets, coordinating with the Talent Management & Operations Team and senior management on changes and recommendations, working with Payroll to manage the payroll data entry/interface, preparing compensation communication/letters/total compensation statements, compensation packages, salary charts, etc. Also responsible for off-cycle compensation changes (including but not limited to: conducting FLSA analysis, compensation recommendations, preparing appropriate documentation and communication, etc.) * Regularly provide support in ensuring the flow of data for the employee lifecycle is effectively managed. * Assists in the maintenance of on-line systems, tools and communications to support the administration of compensation programs General * Must be able to research and handle extremely confidential information in an expeditious and discretionary fashion * Responsible for developing policies, procedures, and institute industry best practices. * Responsible for remaining current on all recent changes in regulations affecting compensation matters and notifying the affected staff of the changes and business implications * Recommend and implement changes leading to best practice, strong audit controls and improved efficiency in operations * Responsible for responding to questions and special requests from employees and management in a timely manner * Prepares budgets, reports, and special reports for senior management * Deliver a high quality service to internal and external customers in a professional manner within the specified timeframes * Responsible for liaising with the appropriate departments in a respectful and competent manner to ensure business needs are met * Performs other responsibilities, as requested Qualifications and Experience: * Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or related field * Minimum of 5 years of compensation experience including a strong working knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plans * Prior experience in managing complex compensation and benefits projects is required * Attention to detail a must.
