Longwood University is seeking a Director of Financial Operations (FA347). The purpose of this position is to effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of the University's cash flows. The incumbent will work with the Budget Office to effectively prepare the University for future opportunities and challenges. Manage financial transactions to ensure adequate cash balances and regularly prepare cash projections for Management. Interact with Management to provide vital information for decision-makers. Play an integral part in the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial statements. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage all aspects of the University cash flows
Learn all aspects of and oversee the Accounts Payable department
Manage Equipment Trust Fund reimbursements
Coordinate transactions between the University's Foundations and the University
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies
Ensure the efficient and effective use of the University resources
Work with other departmental staff to prepare and review financial statements
Job Requirements:
Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or closely related field
Demonstrated, progressive experience in cash management
Prior experience preparing institutional/business financial statements
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through periods of significant change
Demonstrated ability to implement and sustain organizational improvements in a high-pressure environment
Proven experience in organizational restructuring
Strong conflict resolution skills with a track record of successfully navigating and resolving conflict
CPA preferred
Previous experience within Accounts Payable highly preferred

This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. A successful fingerprint based criminal background investigation is required.
