Director of Financial Operations

Job Description

The Director of Financial Operations is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Billing, Collections, and Revenue Maintenance teams by establishing sound polies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the business financial operational team made up of 3 managers that oversee 21 administrative staff members

  • Provide weekly/monthly reporting and analysis of team and company performance to CFO.

  • Help ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.

  • Work with senior teams to help grow the business, formulating strategies and tactical execution.

  • Work closely with Internal IT and Salesforce admin to ensure that all systematic processes and functions from quote to cash are performing as designed.

  • Ensure timely billing, collections, cancellations and customer price increases are performed to maximize company revenue and cash.

  • Actively participate in the formulation of system enhancements, ensuring that the integrity of our internal data is maintained through all changes.

  • Lead and develop the Billing, Collection, and Revenue maintenance teams.

  • Facilitate the forecasting of company revenue.

  • Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure proper recognition of revenue.

  • Formulate strong relationships with the Product teams to help drive intelligent product pricing.

  • Provide oversight and direction of key business projects as assigned.

  • Act as company liaison between Intacct (our financial system of record) and DealerSocket.

  • Manage Collections team (collection stats, write offs, lockouts, customer suspensions, AR aging summary)

  • Manage Billing team (billing stats, MRR implementations, sales invoices, credits)

  • Prepare attrition pipeline and customer count report.

  • Assist in managing/resolving Intacct cases (our financial system of record)

  • Review AR aging report, customer report and analysis, revenue forecasts.

  • Work on 606 contracts implementation.

  • Handle system issues between Salesforce and Intacct as they come up.

  • Work on CPQ+ implementation.

Skills/Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree and CPA designation a plus

  • 10 years' experience of continuing responsibility in an accounting environment

  • 5 years' management experience; experience supervising employees in a multi-site environment a plus

  • Experience working closely with CEO, CFO, and COO

  • Proficient in accounting software packages such as Intacct

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Decision Making: Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions; takes action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position

  • Must be able to occasionally move about the office to retrieve files and documents

  • Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying

  • Some travel required
