Job Summary The Financial Aid Director will
oversee and manage all aspects of the university's Financial Aid Department. Duties/Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership and administrative oversight to the University's financial aid
department. Develops and maintains collaborative
relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other university departments.
Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain and improve student opportunities and
enrollment via accessible financial aid programs.
Trains and
educates financial aid staff, ensuring staff are equipped to counsel students on available financial aid options and
opportunities. Develops or oversees the development of
educational materials to educate students, parents, and other borrowers on the differences in financial aid options including government
loans, private loans, grants, scholarships, work-study, and other forms.
Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from private and government lending agencies.
Drafts, reviews, and implements policies, guidelines, and standards to ensure
students maintain financial and academic eligibility for financial aid. Periodically audits and reviews recordkeeping processes to ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping in accordance with
federal, state, local, and laws, regulations, and university policies.
Monitors financial aid practices to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and university
policies.
Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, regulations,
and best practices. Performs other related duties as
assigned.

skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to establish and meet departmental goals and standards. Ability to prepare and present detailed financial reports to a broad audience.
Thorough understanding of the laws and regulations involved in financial aid programs and university policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, required
Master's degree in
finance preferred.
Five years of experience in a related field with a minimum of three
years of supervisory experience required.
