Candidate MUST HAVE Laboratory Experience
As the Director, Finance at WestPac Labs, you will be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the Division's financial function in accordance to the goals and objectives of the organization, including future growth and expansion opportunities. The Director, Finance is responsible for the financial reporting process and ensures that financial data adheres to all Federal, State, and GAAP laws and regulation, along with Company policies, procedures, and controls. The Director, Finance will also advise the laboratory leadership team on financial trends and forecasts.
A Director, Finance at WestPac Labs will:
Essential Job Functions:
Establish and maintain the Division's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Maintain appropriate information confidentially.
Accurately represent the Division's financial position and outcomes.
Formulate financial reports and present findings, including trends, changes, and recommendations to management.
Prepare and interpret financial and statistical reports for internal and external purposes.
Provide leadership team with financial trends for each location/business unit.
Complete timely monthly close and fiscal year-end close duties, including completion of detailed workpaper preparation for external auditors.
Be responsible for internal analysis of accounts and other auditing procedures, as necessary.
Direct and manage Divisional forecasting process to determine future internal and external growth opportunities.
Oversee the Accounts Payable function of the Division.
Report commissions of sales and marketing professionals.
Direct and oversee financially-related projects as they arise, including but not limited to, research, problem solving, and reconciling.
Participate in a strong managerial team of professionals focused on efficiently managing company expansion and providing quality service.
Project the growth and manage the financial expansion of the Division.
Motivate and develop staff, monitor staff performance, complete performance evaluations, and counsel and discipline staff, as necessary.
Provide assistance and direction to subordinate employees.
Adhere to confidentiality, safety, compliance, and legal requirements.
Continuously work towards improving the financial outcomes of the Division.
Participate in and support all Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement endeavors for the laboratory, as necessary.
In addition to typical work schedule, may be scheduled to work weekends, work split shifts, overtime, holidays, and attend mandatory company meetings, as necessary.
Be required to perform other job duties, as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Have the ability to manage others in finance-related roles.
Be proficient with computer software, including but not limited to, financial software, databases, and Microsoft Office.

Have knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and financial analysis.
Be familiar with principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, and labor relations.
Have knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
Be skilled with active listening, critical thinking, time management, problem solving, and speaking.
Possess ability to communicate information and ideas so that it will be understood by others.
Required Education and Experience:
Have a minimum of ten to fifteen years' experience in accounting or finance with an increasing level of responsibility and supervisory experience.
Have a completed bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Have a completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) or similar graduate degree from an accredited college or university.
Have experience with Managed Care Contracts
Have experience with clinical laboratory sales, marketing, customer service, and financial experience.
Have a SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent.
Meet applicable company insurance guidelines and release Department of Motor Vehicles driving records if required to drive or operate a company vehicle in the performance of their duties. Must comply with company driving policies and procedures.
Participate in occasional travel to interact with Division personnel, attend meetings, or participate in educational training, as needed.
Have the ability to require lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds.
Be able to reach, stoop/bend, kneel/crouch, push/pull, and walk.
Engage in moderate to frequent computer work.
Engage in moderate to frequent use of telephone and fax.
Have the ability to see, hear, talk, and respond adequately.
