Position Summary:Our Environmental Nonprofit client is seeking a seasoned finance leader.The Finance and Operations Director will oversee financial and operational functions, playing a pivotal role in establishing and executing accounting and budgeting systems, managing grants, vendors, and supporting various operational areas. This role requires expertise in public grant compliance and a proactive approach to system implementation. This role reports to the Chief Operating and Financial Officer.Essential Functions:Accounting * Develop and uphold fund accounting policies and procedures. * Oversee end-to-end accounting processes including vendor management, grant management, payroll, and period-end closings. * Produce internal management reports and grant reports. * Facilitate annual audit and tax filings.Financial Planning & Analysis * Maintain a three-year rolling budget and produce updated forecasts based on financial data. * Assist in the grant application process and manage grant invoicing and reporting.Risk Management * Collaborate with the CFO to establish and maintain adequate risk management practices including insurance coverage.Other Operational Processes * Support employee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes. * Coordinate legal matters and facilities management with relevant stakeholders. * Oversee IT-related matters in collaboration with the CFO and outsourced IT support.Requirements: * Minimum 5 years of experience in program and financial management, grant compliance, and project tracking. * Proficiency in grants management, particularly with state and federal funding regulations. * Ability to launch financial systems in a startup environment. * Aptitude for developing policies, protocols, and agreements aligned with organizational goals. * Strong communication skills for conveying technical information to various stakeholders. * Excellent attention to detail in budgeting, grant management, and contract administration. * Bachelor's degree in finance, business, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.BenefitsAnticipated salary range is $100,000-$120,000, based on experience.
