This is the highest leadership role for the assigned functional/technical area in the IT organization which participates in strategic decisions regarding assigned functional/technical area. The Director implements and manages initiatives within assigned area with complete autonomy and accountability for results. Partner with Finance, Human Resource and IT leaders to define technology strategy for the systems and build supporting system roadmaps. Execute the strategy, track against milestones, and drive results in collaboration with partner teams. This role reports to the VP, Enterprise Solutions.


  • To direct all activities of a department that delivers best in class solutions to business problems through the use of information technology.

  • Manage the existing systems (Oracle Financials, Oracle HCM, Hyperion, Vertex), Reporting platforms and support Cloud transition roadmap.

  • Collaborate with Finance business and support processes in General Ledger, Fixes Assets, Indirect Sourcing & Procurement, Payables, Receivables, Revenue Accounting, Tax and Treasury, as well as their interdependencies and how system solutions fit into the processes

  • Deep understanding of Intercompany transactions , consolidations, management and audit & reporting requirement

  • To align and calibrate organization's technology deployment strategy with its business strategy, including overseeing technology purchases, negotiating contracts and services.

  • To partner cross functionally within IT and/or external business function leaders in their efforts to deliver value to the organization.

  • To be the strategic leader with focus on continuous improvement by increasing efficiency, reducing costs or enhancing revenue for the organization.

  • To manage customer (internal/external) relationship and be the single point of contact within the supported function.

  • Manage department budget and project finances.

  • Manage complex projects/initiatives involving significant cross functional coordination.

  • Establish and manage a team that is responsible for delivering projects, achieving departmental metrics and day to day operations.

  • Establish and build strategic alliance with business unit leadership, partner with them to develop long term/short term strategies to meet business objectives.

  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Maintain compliance with audit requirements, SOX and operational controls.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting or an Engineering field preferred

  • MBA in Finance or CPA preferred

  • Min of 10 years of progressive experience managing Information technology for a large company in a cross functional environment.

  • Requires min of 5 years of experience and significant depth of knowledge in Finance and/or HR

  • Requires project management experience specifically managing large scale IT projects from inception to delivery.

In addition you will administer the US multi-state travel program as well as the global expatriate payroll, while maintaining compliance with applicable country specific and US Federal, State and Local payroll compliance regulations. In this role you will act as a consultant to Total Rewards CoE Teams globally and Tier 1 Total Rewards & Employee Data Management Transaction Center on the execution of global payroll implementation, administration and reporting. In this role, you will... * Manage and support the compilation of all relevant data provided through various sources, using Excel spreadsheets, Enterprise Interface Builder tools, Access databases, Third Party vendor tools and best practices while executing key controls for accurate loading of data to the payroll system. Interpret pay data results for accuracy, identifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining data to produce complete, accurate pay results, or providing recommendations for correction. Reconcile with external partners and makes appropriate updates. * Manage and administers all base-pay and non-base pay components including sales bonus, partnership, corporate giving campaigns, and corporate recognition, while maintaining compliance with applicable country specific and US Federal, State, and Local payroll compliance regulations. Work with peers at third party vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments to crew. * Maintain and share comprehensive knowledge of the payroll system, system functionality, and calculation regulations in order to ensure appropriate application to crew payments. Provide consultative, ongoing support, guidance, and direction to management and peers, guiding toward self-provisioning as appropriate. Document procedural deliverables, including process workflows, key controls, execution instructions, timing of deliverable, and key stakeholders for all assigned functions. * Research, analyze and resolve complex payroll and compensation-related issues, inquiries or discrepancies escalated by the Contact Center and other business partners. Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution after identifying issues/trends in reports or source systems and recommend enhancements to work-flows that will improve operational efficiency. Integrate new or existing technologies into work-flows, analyzes impact, prepares environment for change, communicates changes to all team members, and updates or creates new procedures or work-flows. * Manage relationships with regional HR CoEs, Finance payroll vendors, funding banks and various tax jurisdiction offices, to ensure that crew payments are appropriately assigned. * Provide consultative support to regional Support Center processors offering advice on handling complex transactions related to payroll and benefits. * Perform testing for new requirements or enhancements of payroll systems; monitors and ensures data quality by using existing business knowledge to create test cases and reports that ensure data accuracy and completeness. Ensure change management to business partners and crew. * Liaise with members of HR Payroll, Compensation Center of Expertise, Compliance, and external business partners and consultants to research problems thoroughly and identify root cause; provides or recommends action to be taken. Develop, produce and reviews processes to ensure that problems do not recur. * Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Undergraduate degree in a business related field of concentration or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, FPC, CPP) is a plus. * Minimum of three years directly related finance or payroll experience. Previous payroll administration experience is preferred. * Knowledge of all applicable government rules and regulations, i.e., FLSA preferred. * Knowledge of payroll policies and programs. * Basic knowledge of payroll program compliance and reporting requirements. * Sensitivity in working with confidential information. * Proven teamwork capabilities. * Excellent project management skills, including planning and organizational skills. * Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives. * Ability to effectively work independently and identify when to engage others. * Experience with multi-state and global payroll processing preferred.
