The Director of Facility Operations provides leadership, supervision and support of the Facilities Department which comprises Buildings & Grounds, Custodial Services and Rink Operations. This position works closely with many constituents of the School. Major responsibilities include: daily building operations for the facility (350,000 gsf), grounds and athletic fields management (100 acre campus) and capital repair and renewal projects. The incumbent will develop strategic direction of the department and be accountable for implementation, with sustainability as a key component of both. The Director will manage in a collaborative manner working alongside the staff on a daily basis serving not only as a mentor but as contributing team member in order to effectively monitor progress and ensure accountability.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in one of the following disciplines: Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities or Construction Management
  • At least 10 years of experience in facility/building/property management, construction management, and/or plant engineer (preferably in an educational setting), with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office or Google Docs for communicating, budget tracking, project management and presentations.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, utility networks and energy management systems strongly preferred
  • Preferred experience in at least two technical trades.Personal experience in at least two technical trades (plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, roofing, HVAC and/or other building trades)
  • Training in and experience implementing and practicing energy conservation and sustainable building practices
  • Knowledge of landscaping, forest management, athletic field maintenance, pesticide management preferred

Computer Skills

  • Strong skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft office suite (EXCEL, Word)
  • Experience in CMMS software programs (preferably SchoolDude)
  • Experience in operating Building Automation/Energy Management Systems
  • Familiarity with database management, data input, and MS Project would be an advantage

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Black Seal Boiler LicenIntegrated pest management operators license preferred

  • Membership in related professional organization(s) desirable
  • Valid drivers license
  • Black Seal Boiler License Preferred
  • Universal Refrigerant License Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk for long periods of time around campus
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to sit at a desk working on a computer

The Director of Business Strategy and Operations – Discovery and Translational Medicine role is part of the R&D Strategy and Planning (RDSP) division, which is accountable for R&D business strategy & operations, operating model transformation, drug development project & portfolio management, governance management, and R&D learning. The role reports to the RDSP Head of Business Strategy & Operations for the Discovery and Translational Medicine divisions of BMS R&D. Core responsibilities of the Director of Business Strategy and Operations – Discovery and Translational Medicine are: * Facilitating the development of divisional business strategy from internal expertise and external analysis * Translating business strategy into divisional objectives with actionable plans and performance measures, and managing their successful delivery * Designing and delivering transformative operating model enhancements that improve pipeline delivery, enhance business performance, and enable enterprise strategy * Assisting functional leaders with the design and implementation of their short- and long-term business strategies to achieve divisional and R&D objectives * Driving the successful delivery of divisional, functional, project, and portfolio objectives across business units by ensuring effective stakeholder alignment, change management, and staff engagement * Ensuring efficient operating model connections and partnerships within and across Discovery and Translational Medicine divisions, as well as with core partners within Medical, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial divisions * Monitoring the external landscape to stay abreast of industry macro trends and business strategy literature to inform and educate stakeholders, and incorporate into D + TM business strategy and operations The Director of Business Strategy and Operations – Discovery and Translational Medicine will partner closely with Discovery, Translational Medicine, RDSP, and enterprise teams including Finance, Human Resources, Global Procurement, Information Technology, and Business Insights & Analytics to deliver integrated business solutions to D + TM. Accordingly, it is critical that the candidate effectively partner with and engage a matrixed team of internal and external partners to deliver organizational value.
