Summary:

The Director of Fundraising and Special Events is responsible for implementing and managing the daily activities associated with all CCAOSA special events, planning/coordination/execution of all fundraisers as well as friend raising and donor management/cultivation for CCAOSA. This position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff under their supervision. As well as managing event & fundraising staff, work in tandem with supporting functions in Mission Advancement to track and reconcile donor gifts, recruit volunteers, develop event deliverables, and engage parish groups and priests. Director must think critically and independently with autonomous oversight of multiple budgets and staff.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all administrative, financial, contractual, logistical, and staff/volunteer duties with each event.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of event staff under their supervision and make recommendations for termination of employees.

  • Develop and implement employee development plans for program employees.

  • Maintain relationships and negotiate bids for external vendors to contribute to the success of the event.

  • Work professionally and collaboratively with Board of Directors, Governing Committees, and Event Committees throughout event planning to ensure board engagement.

  • Create and adhere to event budgets, profitable ROI, event reconciliation, and fiscal oversight often working collaboratively with Finance following agency fiscal policies.

  • Generate year-over-year reports on department, event timeline, revenue and expenses, sponsorships, and auction and reconcile event reporting with Finance.

  • Assist Chief Development Officer, CEO/President and Board of Directors in the design and successful implementation of any capital campaigns and major gifts campaigns.

  • Identify, cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate sponsors and individual donors.

  • Assist in creation of new campaigns then analyze data and make recommendations.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, Hospitality or business-related field preferred.

  • Experience

  • Three to five years of experience in planning events with two years of experience in board relations and donor relations experience preferred.

  • License and Credentials

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid driver license

  • Valid vehicle insurance

  • Must have clean driving record.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in project management including ability to problem solve quickly, execute multiple events and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with pending deadlines.

  • Extensive working knowledge of event scheduling and production

  • Experience with events software including Greater Giving, Intacct, and Salesforce preferred.

  • Must have good written and verbal skills.

  • Must have good math skills for reporting and financial reconciliation.

  • Must be able to maintain high level of professionalism with internal and external partners.

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 100% local.
