Position Summary:

We seek a positive, service-oriented, energetic and self-motivated Sales Manager with Special Event/Convention experience to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Director of Event Sales will report to the Director of Sales and will work closely with the hotel's catering, sales and banquet teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals.

  • Book Special Events, Conventions and small meetings, detail the meeting / function with the client (space requirements, times, menus, themes, etc.), and assist in overseeing the event.

  • Complete contracts, BEO'S, coordinate with the appropriate areas / departments of the hotel to ensure proper high-quality product and service delivery and customer service satisfaction.

  • Recommend program and procedural changes as needed.

  • Execute a territorial marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of Special Event/Convention revenue.

  • Prepare status and weekly reports to keep management abreast of activities.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the competition's products, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals

  • Participate in communication and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Assume all responsibilities as delegated by management and do any or all other duties that may be required to fulfill customer needs and requests.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

  • Strong administrative skills including business writing.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Previous Hotel Catering experience (preferably with a national brand, with a proven track record for success in sales and revenue generation)

  • Exceptional service skills, with strong ability to foster effective relationships with all levels of staff, management and clientele

  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to create a motivating work environment

  • Excellent organization skill and ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

  • High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

VIEW JOBS 4/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-16T00:00 The Event Manager is responsible for increasing the exposure of the Bath Fitter brand and its market share by generating new leads for the Branch through malls, shows, and exhibits in a wide variety of venues to help the Branch meet or exceed their sales goals. To achieve these goals, the Event Manager will select, supervise and train regular show workers who will, with the Event Manager, constitute a separate operating unit within Bath Fitter that is dedicated to generating Bath Fitter customer leads. The Event Manager will have substantial discretion in making the decisions that will produce a maximum number of quality customer leads for Bath Fitter Generate quality leads by participating in events in order to meet or exceed set sales objectives. Meet established goals for the cost of advertising related to Events. Develop and update an events plan and budget. Select, recruit and hire the equivalent of at least two full-time, qualified and permanent show workers. Supervise and coach show workers according to guidelines and in compliance with Company policy and procedures. Submit all required paperwork on time, including show applications, requests for checks, and show evaluation forms. Collect, review and submit all staff time records for payroll in a timely manner. Direct the set-up and tear down displays at shows or malls as needed. Negotiate and obtain leases for Bath Fitter mall displays and store fronts. Select and maintain inventory displays, making certain each display is kept clean, well-stocked and maintained to always represent the Company in the most professional manner. Select mall leads and submit to the office at assigned intervals. Ensure quality of cards received meet established guidelines (complete name, phone number, email address). Research and develop new marketing venues and networking opportunities. Develop new and innovative approaches to the business. Network with other vendors at show locations to develop new show locations and techniques Attend and participate in regular branch and/or regional meetings and training sessions. Always wear Bath Fitter uniform on the job, observing rules of good grooming and hygiene. Abide by all Bath Fitter policies and procedures. Adhere to all Bath Fitter safety policies and procedures. Realize the Event Manager's role as the personal representative of Bath Fitter while in uniform and while driving a company vehicle and act accordingly. Perform other duties as assigned.
