Director Of Enrollment Services

The Director of Enrollment Services reports to the Dean of Student Services. The Director leads the Enrollment Services Team and is responsible for marketing, outreach, and recruiting plans, as well as providing information, coaching, and assistance to prospective students, families, and secondary counselors on the academic, financial, curricular, and co-curricular offerings of Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four year institution of higher education is required.

Requires three years' experience providing effective college counseling, recruiting, or student service related area in higher education. (Related student work and/or internship experience will be considered for this position).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must have:

• An understanding of student recruitment, student learning, enrollment management, and other relevant theories in education, social sciences, and humanities.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.

• An understanding and ability to use technology in communications with students, texting, Twitter, SnapChat, FaceBook, and other social media. Knowledge of personal computer and various software, including Word, Excel and Appointment Plus.

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with prospective students, families, faculty and staff in professional manner.

Must be a multi-task oriented individual with an appreciation for working within deadlines.

Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.

Establish effective working relationships with others.

Follow established college policies and procedures.

Must have a valid driver's license or possesses ability to acquire one prior to employment start date.

Travel: Requires travel, occasionally overnight, evenings, and weekends.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment. Work primarily, but not exclusively, in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential or work hazards; however, there are sometimes stressful conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's preferred. Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred. Strongly prefer experience with Banner and ARGOS.

SALARY Commensurate with experience. Plus excellent benefits and retirement. Work Hours Full-time 40 hours a week; Frequent evening and weekends and travel required.
