Director -- Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering (Telecom)

The Director - Outside Plant Engineering leads Multi-unit/multi-location OSP design work groups to complete the design of complex OSPE projects. This requires a broad knowledge of outside plant Construction and Design practices and standards for aerial, buried and underground facilities. Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are also a must for this position. Also required is a familiarity with PC and software to include CAD and Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct nationwide design of Outside Plant Fiber Network to The Home to a fully constructible job package and maintain the highest standard of deliverables quality.

  • Manage the production of efficient designs for new developments, network construction, and network upgrades.

  • Lead and develop subordinates to meet or exceed client delivery schedules.

  • Establish positive relationships with local customer representatives and third-parties and ensure efficient processes are in place.

  • Support finance metric development, reporting and dashboard reporting.

  • Effectively lead and provide managerial insight and direction to a technically oriented workforce dealing with large volumes of projects driven by dynamic customer needs.

  • Maintain production efficiency objectives for all production personnel.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Seven years minimum of technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP, optical networks, project management and direct customer interface

  • Experience directly managing large and diverse teams

  • Program Management experience to include Large scale projects

  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, written and verbal

  • Must possess the ability to employ good troubleshooting skills and creative problem solving abilities under pressure

  • Must be willing to travel as necessary to meet with internal and external individuals

  • Experience with meeting revenue targets

  • Excellent keyboard skills

We are currently seeking a Packing Engineering Manager to be located Coppell, TX and report to the Group Manager, Engineering. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Responsibility and accountability for: labels (paper, plastic, pressure sensitive, etc.), sleeves, shrink film, stretch film, paperboard, corrugate, pallets, and any other associated materials or processes. * Defining and approving technical input such as drawings and specifications for materials. * Leads and Maintains packaging material specification system. * Work with suppliers to optimize packaging design and processes to document and validate changes in the specification system. * Investigate root cause of new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely and cost-effective solutions. * Develop a relationship with all material suppliers and make sure quality and performance levels are maintained at a high level. * This position requires working with purchasing, marketing, and operations internal partners and developing those internal relationships to deliver high performing results. * Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor efficiency, transportation, storage and disposal. * Work with operations to ensure that the packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability and shop ability. * Participate in line trial process to ensure sizing and functionality of materials and performance for manufacturing. * Responsible for developing pallet patterns for all products. Key qualifications include: * Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or other related Engineering Degree. * Minimum 5 years of experience in Food, Beverage, or Consumer Packaged Goods Industry. * Strong Technical as well as leadership capabilities and can speak to influencing, facilitation and communicating with various groups. * Strength in visualizing complete projects at the conceptual stage. * Candidate must have a strong desire to help the customer and add value to the business. * Candidate must aspire to deliver on-time, on-cost and at-the-quality within their scope of responsibility. * Highly motivated, well organized, and goal oriented capable of operating alone or in multi discipline groups, with minimum amount of direct supervision. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products * Knowledge of AutoCAD, use of CAPE or other pallet optimization programs.
