Location: Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA with occasional commute to Vancouver

What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible to lead the development of the technology that supports our Enterprise Imaging solutions. The Executive Director of Engineering will be responsible for progressing our complete imaging ecosystem architecture, technology and solution delivery across many areas including large scale, high performance cloud storage, browser-based clinical data visualization, advanced workflow & clinical automation frameworks, medical system interoperability strategies, clinical and operational analytics.
The primary accountability of the Executive Director of Engineering will be for the success of our Enterprise Imaging solutions in the market customer success, quality and financial. The Executive Director of Engineering is also accountable for the overall architecture of the product, technical approach, efficient and effective use of R&D resources and for the Enterprise Imaging technology roadmap.
Be a key member of the leadership team shape the strategy of the entire organization and contribute beyond the scope of SW engineering, based on wide perspective and reach experience
Define and execute the solution architecture, specifically cloud deployment model and architecture
Define, build and manage the engineering organization that is both effective (focused on the right targets) and efficient (quality, throughput)
Manage the R&D budget: long and short-term planning, forecasting, monitoring and reporting
Responsible for the quality of the deliverables and for compliance with quality and safety standards (ISO, FDA)
Provide input to policy level direction regarding standards, processes, metrics, long range plans and budgeting, and other policy items as required
Plan the R&D activities and roadmap execution: short-term and long-term
Instruct, assign and direct the activities of the development staff to ensure that the work performed meets the acceptance criteria and is performed in line with all stated processes and procedures
Prepare activity and progress reports for development activities and provides status reports to senior and executive management as required or apparent
Represent Enterprise Imaging in various corporate level technology leadership forums
Participate in customer meeting (pre and post sales) to review and align the Enterprise Imaging technology roadmap
What You Need for this Position
Extensive background in enterprise systems development, specifically with cloud technologies
Experience in effectively leading an R&D organization of 100+ team members by leveraging Agile methodologies at scale
15+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically in enterprise systems
5+ years of practical experience in working with cloud technologies and implementing at a large scale
Experience in migrating products from on premise to cloud and transforming the organizational ramp up is preferred
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience in Healthcare IT and specifically Medical Imaging is preferred
