About the Role

GoodRx is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Director of Engineering to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and monitoring software engineering functions. You will be responsible for overseeing various software engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion, reporting directly to our CTO.


  • Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert

  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members

  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by

  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects

  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff

  • Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks, in tandem with our QA Team, to verify the quality of completed projects

  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs

  • Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members

  • Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes

  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors

  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required

  • Master's Degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration preferred

  • 6+ years of engineering experience and in a management role

  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems

  • Experience managing a highly trafficked consumer website

  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop several teams

  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and your engineering teams on track

  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment

  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience

  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

  • Strong knowledge of application design, development and testing techniques

  • Experience of prioritization including control recommendation and documentation

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the operations of the Engineering Department ensuring that all systems are operating to standard, all property assets are constantly maintained to the highest level and all legally mandated Life Safety operating systems/criteria are adhered to by all. Additional responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling of employees; planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all engineering activities to ensure efficient operation of department and preparation of all required reports. Required Skills & Experience * Supervises all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure highest quality workmanship and production * Establishes schedules for, and oversees performance of all preventive maintenance activities * Oversees/assists in the establishment and implementation of Life Safety and other emergency related procedures/training for all personnel * Ensures maintenance of records of all maintenance/repairs performed as required by corporate policy and/or legal mandate * Coordinates inspection and certification of all Life Safety systems and equipment as required by local ordinance * Performs periodic, walk through/visual inspections of all property assets to determine condition, establish maintenance priorities and highlight areas where need for improvement exists * Oversees/develops Engineering Department(s) operating budget(s) according to guidelines established by corporate policy * Establishes/compiles lists of future projects and priorities, for submission to Managing Director, General Managers and Corporate Office for review and approval * Coordinates preparation of annual ADA compliance checklist * Serves as active member of Senior Leadership Committee, and attends all meetings * Oversees activities of all outside contractors performing maintenance/repair/renovation operations to facility/fixed assets * Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental personnel according to Loews standards * Able to make decisions on imperfect information. Agile with multi-tasking, bias toward action, decisive action Education: * College degree preferred Experience: * 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing Loews Hotels Santa Monica CA
